I love Fred, but 1 all pro and 1 pro bowl isn’t enough to get in. Fair or not, if you were never really looked at as the best or at least one of the best at your position during your career you shouldn’t get in.

That is a dumb way to look at it considering that 2007 all pro/pro bowl year he was already in his 30's and had many seasons far better then that where he got snubbed on pro bowls. There were seasons after Brunell where Fred carried that Jags offense and he was a beast! So fun to watch too there ain't nobody comparable today.

Perception is everything. His resume and stats don’t necessarily align, but it’s just hard for me to see a player who essentially never won anything, individually or team wise, getting in. Lavar is right by mentioning Brian Mitchell. But the larger problem is the general public, not even mentioning how great those Washington Redskin teams were. Everyone mentioned the Cowboys and the 49ers and even the Giants. But that NFC East was no joke in the Washington Redskins were just as good as the 49ers, just as good as the giant at their best. Just as good as the Cowboys at their best. In fact, the Dallas Cowboys first Super Bowl appearance would’ve been stopped by the then Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins, if it weren’t for a fumble in the handoff between Mark Rypien and the very same Brian Mitchell. The Redskins were devastated with injury, but their championship metal was coming through on a drive that would’ve defeated the Cowboys and send them to the Super Bowl to face the Buffalo Bills again

How is Fred Taylor listed as a snub in the preview picture over people like Reggie Wayne and Torry Holt? The recency bias in Hall of Fame voting, as well as favoritism amongst media pundits, has really ruined things. Even if you’re talking about running backs from that era, Corey Dillon is a bigger snub than Fred Taylor is by a mile, yet no one is saying he’s snubbed.

The Brian Mitchell argument is awful. Hester is miles ahead of him in almost every Per Return stats. As a returner totals don't matter. The only stats that matter are TD percentage and Yards per Return
