Exactly. I seen players that accomplish far less than what Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith, Mark Brunnell, and Kennean McCardell and still got into the HOF before these guys, just bcuz they played in a bigger market than these guys. That's why I don't respect the HOF anymore. The HOF use to be the pinnacle fraternity, now its just politics, biased, nepotism, shitshow of a circus. Sad of what it has become of it.

Why does it have to be large market team to be in the HOF? Football is football. No, matter if you played in New York or Jacksonville. Fred Taylor and a lot of other Jacksonville jaguars played against the best, competed against the best, had great games against the best, and defeated the best of best nfl had to offer during their era. Now, they can't get in the HOF just because they play in a "smaller market?" That sounds biased as hell. That's not football, thats politics! Sad bro! Btw, Green Bay Packers play in a small market, and don't seem to not have any problems getting their players in the HOF.

Conversely, look at how effective a thrower somebody like LaDainian Tomlinson was. Clearly he had a talent for passing the football, but he got pigeon holed into running back because of his body type (and because running back was still considered a premium position at the time). Great video " I was one of those screaming at every yard he ran. I remember the press asking his old coach Steve Spurrier what he thought about Fred's performance with the Jaguars, and he laughed and said Freddy needs to quit showboating and finish the play. And then said how proud he was of Fred. Man, those were some special times for Jacksonville. I still were Fred's Jaguars jersey some Sundays. Love ya Fred !

Anyone who doesn't think Fred Taylor should be in the hall of fame needs to watch every second of this video. This guy had everything - speed, power, elusiveness, vision, balance, pass-catching skills. He has the career numbers, you can watch these clips of him making other future hall of famers look silly, you see him stand out in terms of what he could do with the ball in his hands. Give his man his gold jacket like he deserves!!!

The only reason he’s not in the HOF is the same reason Jimmy and Tony aren’t either. People just like to hate on the Jaguars.

Definitely not the same reason. Tony career being short while being a LT for a left handed QB is a real negative. Jimmy off the field issues will always be considered even though they shouldn’t be. People do hate the Jags but that’s not what’s holding these guys back.

Definitely not the reason he’s not in the hall of fame. His one pro bowl doesn’t do it. And why does he only have one pro bowl? He was never top 5 in rushing yards in any season. Not even his best season.

Taylor is the reason I respect the jags(not that they care, keyboard warrior) But no joke. Used to pick them on madden in late 90s early 00s they were a good team

Fred Taylor was SO good. Absolute legend of a running back that's been criminally underrated. I'm a lifelong Jags fan and miss watching Fred run. You never knew what type of insane plays he was going to make and they seemed to happen almost every game.

Met Fred Taylor in 2001. He was one of the coolest/nicest people I have ever met. Definitely should be in the Hall of fame. If Terrell Davis with his stats is in the Hall, Fred Taylor should be in for sure.

Taylor was drafted the same year Randy Moss was back in 1998. I drafted BOTH (laughed at hysterically by my buddies) in my first and only ever fantasy league. I took every dollar (two pools) in an 8-team league. It was fun. Fred was an incredible player. Thanks for the post!

mad respect to Fred Taylor - I'm a Steeler fan and I always felt like this dude was criminally underrated. He is a total gentleman too - no posturing, just power and talent. I remember the Fragile Fred nickname, but man - his total career was something special. I feel like people and news pundits never really gave him the time of day for whatever reason.
