Gate NO DOUBT is a first ballot HOF. LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates both made their position something special. Two legends and both flourished in the game. He deserves first ballot.

Stop Tony Gonzalez played at the same time same division and was better more consistent and more special!

So many good memories watching him. On third downs, you knew Gates would get open and it was going to him and defenses still had trouble covering him.

I started watching football and became a Chargers fans in '05, This man was a monsters among men, he could beat double coverage not with speed but by breaking ankles and it would look so effortless. Just hearing Rivers to Gates every Sunday brought me chills. You knew if those guys were out there we had a chance to win. Gates is the golden standard when it comes to Chargers and NFL players, to go from undrafted to having a HoF career, its something special. He should be a first ballet HoF.

Love this retrospective on Antonio Gates. His story is unique, coming from basketball and transferring those tactical skills to football. A principled and tenacious person. Congratulations Mr.Gates. I notice that all teammates shown look so big but not out-of-shape fat. Wonder if McDonalds et al was not as prevalent then.

I remember all 4 of those tight end names.. josh Norman 83, Justin Peele 84, Stephen Alexander 80 and Ryan Krause 89.. that was my 2nd year watching the Chargers. I remember Marty saying in training camp Gates had the best hands on the team and he was a UDFA wearing #43 at the timr

People love Marty as a coach, but he is also the reason why Brees got hurt an ultimately left all because he threw a tantrum that his son wouldn't be promoted to OC.

Please tell management to make a trade for Tyson Campbell, cornerback from Jacksonville, then try to select a wr in the draft, malek nabers or if a slide get Marvin Harrison. Or maybe even Brock bowers. Then you no longer need to waste a pick on kool aid mckinstry with more holes on the roster. I know you don’t want to believe it but Quinton Johnston isn’t looking good and Allen is 32 next year and Mike Williams is no longer as good as he was, and he is getting old fast. Please consider it and also try to bet bellichek or Jim hargbaugh. Pls consider this I have spent 3 hours trying to help out my favorite team in some way.

I hated them as a Broncos fan. That's why I don't get why we hate the Chiefs so much. It stokes the rivalry more when he talks about beating Denver lol.
