Yes they are the main leads in this Yes it's Greek. It became the most famous series in Greece in terms of views, when it was running on the TV channel that produces it. No it's not the first time. In 2021 we had another one called 42°C but Maestro is the first Greek gay drama series to run on Netflix . Their story is very painful and dark but through their suffering from the overlooming homophobia in our society, they do get a nice ending (not happy at all but they stay together and everything is still left unfinished for the S2 in 2023) It's only nine episodes All of the actors are quite famous here in Greece and support LGBT One of the actresses is an out and proud married gay woman irl

Yeah, I can tell they don’t get a happy ending, but only because these characters are still so young and have a lot of maturing to do. They don’t know how to navigate society’s expectations of them, their own changing and growing feelings and the same from those around them. They have many insecurities to understand and address. To make them have a perfect, happy ending wouldn’t feel right and would be disingenuous to the experiences many young people go through. Hopefully they pull through together, but sometimes you have to lose them and go through these painful relationships for you to grow into a better person.

Isn't happy because they get involved in a murder mystery and they have to live with the weight that it leaves on both of them , along with the rest of the characters involved in the mystery. And as S1 concludes, a new clue sees the light of day. A clue that will change literally everything in S2

@@JakeLikesJoking it's not about the maturing but about the dark and dangerous world they live in . Spíro is always trying to get away from Antonis. Antonis thinks that Spíro is doing this due to being closeted. However, in Spiro's POV episode we learn he's actually protecting him that way from the evil schemes of the main villains

I am so happy that this Greek series is the first to have a gay kiss on screen because here it is not common to show same-sex couples because unfortunately many Greeks scold the community. But I'm hopeful that will change.

It's definitely NOT the first gay kiss on Greek TV. There are at least two TV series before with gay kisses, Thymata Eirinis and Kleise ta matia. It's gotta be though the first gay kiss shown on Greek TV without getting any fines by NCRTV.

Gorgeous couple and perfect song and editing. I'm definitely going to check the show out, even though I'm a little wary because every gay Greek storyline I've ever seen has either been *rough* or ended badly. And why is it always the blue/light-eyed ones? They're almost always the 'problem'.
