This is how it was in the 80''s in South Africa, robbery made front line news within hours, outside of the political conflict South Africa was an extremely safe country, private gun ownership per capita also played an important part, it was very high in those days

@@crimsondaoist798 You act like life in South Africa is horrible. Yeah, there's corruption and crime, but crime has decreased since Apartheid and access to electricity and basic amenities have increased significantly. The economy is heavily industrialized and quality of life and average wealth has been consistently increasing since 1994 , despite the unemployment issue. South Africa's economy is far stronger than under Apartheid and despite the shocks of the recently past decade, is still going strong and South Africa is still proverbially the giant of Southern Africa, controlling a large customs area. Jobs are a lot harder to find, but still possible to find. It's also weird seeing people complain about crime and corruption when they were completely with the worse situation under Apartheid. Corruption, Farm robberies/attacks and crime in general were far more common under Apartheid than now, yet the people who complain now supported or were quiet about those issues then. Also, it's weird seeing people who have wifi, phone data and who live in safe neighborhoods talk about crime and job loss like they're experiencing them and that no one in South Africa can find jobs anymore. I mean tons of people from surrounding countries immigrate to South Africa for work or to start a business.

I believe we can make South Africa and Africa as a whole a better and more developed continent with lower levels of poverty and stronger advancements. But in order for this to happen, we really need to sort out the issue of racism, self hatred and be willing to re educate ourselves and the future generation and the values we need to instill in our communities and society as a whole. To some this may seem like an impossible or daunting task. The truth is however, as a species we have not even begun to tap into our true potential. These are the values I will be teaching my children. Regardless of whatever backlash we may receive for pushing for positive change and rehabilitating our nations, we need to push forward with compassion and honesty and have the sense of direction that great people are made of. I am very excited about the future of our continent. Love you all, Patriots. God bless Africa 🤗🙌🙏

Well there is the problem of ethnic population general IQ levels. A group of people with an average IQ of 85 should not be in charge of a group with an average of 100.
@metascopeinitiatives2550
@metascopeinitiatives2550 4 жыл бұрын
@@erhenry20011 I believe this transcends beyond IQ alone. The system or standards that determine the integrity of governance is not sustainable if pride in ones country and ALL fellow people who live in it cannot be celebrated or appreciated. We are living in a world where division is promoted and rewarded whilst unity is strongly frowned upon. It took a pandemic to make people realize how much they depend on each other everyday. Society is based on quantum principles yet we were taught to believe it is each for themselves. For as long as we allow evil to thrive, truth will never see the day of light. The question now becomes, what is the truth and do we have the courage to be honest to ourselves enough to want to make a difference based on the truths we hold or will we accept our current reality as a norm? Thank you for your input and I hope that you are all well during these times 🙏

That's because the US was still allowing them to do some essential trading with the dollar. Despite the sanctions, which were overridden by US congress after Reagan vetoed them, Reagan (of course) didn't implement the the crux of the sanctions. It wasn't until George H.W. Bush came into power and did the full comprehensive form of the sanctions, and won't you know, South Africa became compliant.

The Rand was nearly as strong as the dollar. People had morals back then and South Africa was a developed country. Potholes didn't exist and roads and infrastructure was properly maintained. People in charge was fully trained experts and not like today anyone taken from the streets. ANC was incompetent and broke a country that was working properly into the rubbish that it is now. Plus they applied revenge Apartheid by sacking people with proper qualifications with poorly educated people for the sake of "affirmative action". They should have started democracy without trying to revenge and keep the qualified people in their posts

The biggest curse of SA by the devil is that the world has never witnessed the best of SA working together in : governance, sport, Science and technology, disaster & hunger relief management, Christian fellowship, etc. Things are changing for the good though at a snail's pace. If my people were allowed an equal right to education then we wouldn't have had the problem of uneducated people being in parliament today, would we? We could have truly lived in harmony and shared each others cultures... but dont worry there is still hope ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS STOP THE RACISM AND JUST TRY AND GET ALONG WITH US (TRY AND GET INVOLVED AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT YOUR PEOPLE DID AND BLAME IT ON US)

@@jesse_n good point Jesse, I like the optimism. In the end corruption and laziness need to be fought for this country to turn around. Racist laws are gone now, if we can all figured how to systematically make sa a better place then the majority of racist people will ease up too. Stability, safety and clear relax regulation breeds successful business. Maybe the low Rand value can be used to the advantage of the standard of living just like china did. Job programs like the post office need to end too, in Western countries same day door to door delivery is possible for cheap. This makes every business function better. In south Africa packages get lost, stuck in customs and you have to be in a hot long queue to pick it up. If the anc focusses on problems like this over trying to reclaim land we might be able to turn this ship around. Peace friend :)

I was going to ignore your comment and pass it off as just another angry uneducated type but it was just too good to ignore. Your first point about "that" being an excuse shows how emotional you are. It is common knowledge that during apartheid, South Africa was under international economic sanctions therefore restrictions were put on their financial transactions including their currency trade. This meant that the Rand was worth absolute shit outside the South African borders, to the point that the apartheid government abolished the financial rand exchange rate system and basically set up their own rating system which they could determine themselves how much it is was worth. So when you see the rand/dollar exchange in the 80s, just know it's total bullshit. If the Rand/Dollar exchange rate was as good as you say it was, trust you me, the apartheid regime wouldn't have ended when it did. The fact that the SA economy was worth dog shit at the time, brought about pressure to the government to begin steps to end the damn thing. When you say "you and your type fucked it up" I don't know what you mean. I'm not in the financial business so I can't tell you how I'm responsible for anything. "My type" however well you have to be a bit most specific because when you look around at all developing countries particularly commodity countries you will see that their economies/currencies are not doing well at the moment (explanation for this will take forever but fill free to do your own research). "Feel free and pull the RACE card.. YOU will never be us. YOU will NEVER get to our standards and our levels." - Well I can't help you here as this is a journey of healing that you and only you must take. Best wishes

Even though our country descends further into madness, there was no moral justification for the Apartheid system - and anyone who argues otherwise, needs to examine that concept. However, what has transpired under the current leadership is absolutely shameful. Unfortunately, we were all fooled into thinking the ANC was the only legitimate liberating party, when in fact - there were others, but they did not suit the West. So here we are. Either way, I've not time in my life for black South Africans who would preach war, nor for those white South Africans who would have us believe this country was something of a paradise. It was....but for whom? Surely, with all we have learnt, with all we know from history, there has to be a better way than what we're facing now?

@@arnoldhuman2856 because ordinary citizens have any real power in a Democratic states yeah? Nah we don't and that's the flaw with western democracy a form of corrupt leadership we wouldn't be acquainted with if your inquisitive ancestor didn't have anything to do with it,IT'S FLAWED and corrupt kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH2tc62emLiKis0 my point is we are tired of the whining from people who never suggest tangible solutions if you are not happy then moving to Europe woun't be too hard for you,you people have ancestral visas and stuff and for the most post south africa doesn't have a bad migration reputation you can acquire a visa to any country you want

@@koketsomawela1357 If you dont like democracy, then show what your succesformula looks like. Perhaps the Western world is only a universal way to get organised. At least SA at this point sucks. I do not like you to reffer to my ancestors to give me a problem as i do not reffer to yours. Fact is that you are searching someone to blame for your problems. It always was. The Europeans showed it is possible to create enormous wealth. Now it is your turn and it looks bad. The minorities in SA are warning 10yrs for the dept trap Chinese. Only now Malema and the rest of Africa is starting blaming them for their Problems. It never stops being a black victim. Do you know what I mean. Now the next 200yrs the Chinese are bad. It seems it never stops. Also your ancestors were aggressive and mean, like everybodies. What should the Europeans do with the blacks living on welfare there?

The main reason for the change in the rand dollar exchange is mostly due to the success of the dollar during the 90's and the 00's. Not necessary to the failure of the rand. Both economies have grown significantly, but the US lead the tech boom and stock markets surged in the United States between then and now. To those who were trying to say that the S.A. government were better during apartheid because the rand/dollar exchange rate was better can all go home now. You have been enlightened.

And the Rand was manipulated then to seem strong when it was not. The government was lying to the nation.
