Hello my friends!
It is time for something really big. I was surprised to get the permition for filming this video with the biggest and heaviest airplane in the world, the Antonov 225, Mriya. Mriya is the word that has diffent meanings, my favirites are "Dream" and "Ambition". Antonov aircraft designers had a Dream to build this Gigantic airplane and they were Ambitious enough to realize their dream. This Giant Plane was designed to carry the soviet space shuttle "Buran" and also the launch rocket "Energia". But this airplane is also capable to carry the record ammount of cargo. In this video I will show you the airplane walkaround. That video is not short since you need a lot of time to make exteriour inspection of that huge Antonov 225.
I hope this video will bring some unique aviation content to KZbin. Since I wasn't able to find the Biggest Airplane Review english version.
My Special Thanks to Antonov Chief pilot Dmitry Antonov here is his channel:
/ @dantonov
He flies AN 124, AN 225 and some other planes.
Also my regards to Volodymir Vasilyev and his "Pilot Notes" channel.
He shared the Drone Photage that you may see in the video.
Here here it is:
/ @user-wg2xe4qz2u
The link to Dmitry Antonov KZbin channel:
/ @dantonov
And of course many thanks to Antonov Airlines and their Press department they let me film that airplane despite my channel size.
Here is the link to Antonov Airlines Website:

Drone photage was taken from this video:

One of these... that means one of the only one. :D There's a second hull unfinished and there were some plans to finish it to a customer from the Near East but as far as I know this project was cancelled, too. So Mriya is the one and only AN-225. A real piece of cake of airplane history. I wish I could see her in person :)

Thank you so much for this video. I am obsessed with Boeing 747, Airbus A380 and Antonov. The bigger the aircraft, the bigger the obsession. 🙂 This video has given me a better perspective of the landing gear and the engines. Much respect to the engineers who had a dream to build a mega aircraft and made it a reality. Your channel is getting better with every upload. I look forward to more videos like this one. I have a question though: How do Antonov pilots train to fly? I'm your viewer from Kenya.

My pleasure! Greetings to Kenya! They have the training base in their home airport "Gostomel" near to Kyiv. They go through the theory and flight simulator. There is no flight simulator for AN-225 but there is flight Sim for AN-124 the cockpits of that airplanes are almost identical.

Hi great video ! I have a question.. if I do all my pilot training in Ukraine and then I want to convert all my license for EASA how much it will cost me ? Do you recommend me something like that ? Thanks !
@PilotBlogDenys
@PilotBlogDenys 4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend to train for EASA license in one of EU Countries. We are not EASA license country and conversion is quite difficult. I was looking to convert my ICAO ATPL to EASA ATPL but it takes lot of time. I still have to pass all the ATPL theory like a beginner, have a Simulator check ride and lots of paperwork. And also I need to have EU passport or at least be employed in EU to get EASA license. That is why some of Ukrainian student pilots go to Lithuania, Estonia and other EU countries to start their training and get EASA license. I hope I answered your question. Thanks for your comment 🤘

@Pilot Blog Denis, I love when you are franly admitting when you don't know something and you don't start bullshit. This is the sign of a True Man. And I loved to hear the enthusiasm in your voice. Sometimes I had to make myself remember that this is not a 16 years old lad but a 737 captain and these moments of honesty are the best ones! Thank you! (Only one suggestion for the future-try to take quite still footages without camera motion. Too many motions and too much motion can make the video troublesome to see, causing dizziness. It is better to cut. You may want to take detail close-ups, shots of the surroundings, etc. to insert between far too similar takes to avoid "jerking". Still I loved this video, and I wish if I could see Mriya in person...)

Wow. Thanks for your comment and advise 😊. Honestly I had not a lot of time filming that Antonov. I was supervised by chief pilot. We had not more than 1 hour for that. I mean he must do his work also... If I had at least 2-3 hours I would have filmed in much better way... It was a rush filming with lots of mistakes. Most of the video I cut out while editing it... Quite sad. I also may have used other gear (camera) with better stabilization. But hadn't time for it 😣. So everything was filmed on one (not perfect) camera. I am sorry for that 😔.
