This plane came to Hyderabad and the stupid airport people even didn't allow common people to go have a look though the crew and the company are fine with public visitors. Even the captain made a statement in the local newspapers that he was very disappointed as he expected the local airport authorities would arrange for common people to visit. It was one of a kind chance. When I look at this plane, i try to imagine the many people putting in all their efforts in designing, manufacturing and maintaining this plane. The technology still works and that is really amazing.12

I have had the pleasure to have worked with the crew of this aircraft while on tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan many years ago. Watching the crew prepare the plane for its off-load and subsequent loading with a new load, afterward, was something to see as well.

It was made to transport the Russian version och a space shuttle but they canceled that project and the 225 was retired but restored later due to demand of bigger planes than AN-124.
@nescio035 жыл бұрын
@Robert Ratskywatsky: No. There are two. But the second one was never finished, 'cause the USSR fell apart en the money flow stopped. It was later cannibalized to maintain the working one. Steps to finish it were taken much later, but were frequently aborted. It's now 70% complete and will be finished for sale to AICC. It will take a load of 250 metric tons. Completion cost counting from the first abandonment wil be approx. $300.000.000
