As a Doncaster resident I often see this beauty in the skies above and it never fails to catch my attention. It just glides as though it's barely moving. Unfortunately there are recent reports that it has been destroyed near Kyiv 😥

What an absolutely amazing piece of kit. Good catch. I do like the good viewing opportunities at Doncaster. I grew up just a few miles from what was then RAF Finningley, a Vulcan base. The noise they made was incredible. Air shows there were always good too, just ridiculously crowded getting in or out. Last show in 1994 with Concorde was brilliant. Little did we know that in 9 short years such sights would be no more.

My work mate captured an amazing photo as it flew over his street bottom end of Armthorpe last July '19 (I live near the water tower on Leger Way, so only hear aircraft briefly). From being little I used to come with my family from Gainsborough to the Air Displays mid September. Living only 10½ miles atcf's from RAF Scampton, you could hear the Vulcan Scramble very clearly. You can on 'special' open day, like Bank Holidays sit in the cock pit of a Vulcan at Winthorpe Air Museum at the top end of the A46 from Lincoln, not far from the big roundabout connecting the A1 and the A46.

The first few videos and stills are from doncaster Airport.. but the actual take off video is not. There are no wind farms in the area.
