this is absolutely the most beautiful video shot at an225 !!!! the take-off is fantastic and the carts have recovered very well! I've never seen an antonov an-225 but antonov 124 yes. I come from turin airport

A little bit of luck on that take-off with the weather, but my choice to go a very long way down the runway which worked well. The Very high winds spoilt this video unfortunately causing loads of "camera judder"

There was only one made in USSR and this one is still in service. The USSR began with the concept of the AN-325, a bigger version of the AN-225 shown here, but after the collapse of USSR those ideas died with the country.

As a matter of fact, most Antonov aircraft were build in Tashkent at TAPOich. So did TAPOich build the wings of the 225. The navigation equipment (RSBN) comes from the Gromov Institute.

Yes, yes the design was made in Ukraine in Kiev, most of the parts were made in Ukraine, the assembly was made in Ukraine, engines were designed and made in Ukraine, but it is a Russian plane? Oh, I forgot, the flight certification was passed in Ukraine years after USSR collapsed, and before the certification was passed a lot of issues were fixed in Ukraine on account of Ukrainian budget, USSR was dead for years that time, and Russia rejected to finance or take any technical part in finishing the plane and to pull it trough international certification, the soviet prototype was finished after USSR collapsed, all was finished on account of Ukrainian taxpayers money. Russia? Russia was aside of this project, voluntary aside, and during USSR time Russia preferred its own Ilyushin cargo planes' projects, always preferred to any Ukrainian AN planes, including An 225, Ilyushin was and is a competitor to An.

@@Liam-ly7up Soviet built raw version/ prototype, it was used for test and flight with a shuttle, it had problems as all newly designed prototypes. An 225 was finished years after USSR collapsed, a lot of issues and structural problems(especially a cargo gate and cargo compartment) were fixed or a new or more modern parts were used(engines and some avionics parts) on account of Ukraine budget money, Ukrainian taxpayers money, and Russia Federation officially rejected to invest money to finish the An 225 project or in an international flight certification. An 225 was finished years after USSR collapsed, it was not supposed to carry cargo inside, so Ukraine invested its own money to redesign, reinforce, build, assemble multiple plane structural parts to carry cargo inside.
