@@kenjen7555 it's an easy search The legal term “genocide” refers to certain acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Genocide is an international crime, according to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948). The acts that constitute genocide fall into five categories: Killing members of the group Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction, in whole or in part Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group Although the term “genocide” is often used, its commission is rare when compared to other serious crimes that are not defined by an intent to destroy a targeted group, such as crimes against humanity and war crimes.

He deserves to be charged, tried, and convicted for the war crimes and crimes against humanity that he's had an active hand in precipitating, facilitating, shaping, advising, collaborating, and providing material support for. But, sadly, I don't think the political courage of our legal professionals or the risk tolerance of our political class will allow for him to be found guilty and sentenced. That doesn't mean that Blinken can't be hounded and harassed and treated roughly one he leaves office. Mr. Blinken will have a long stretch of life to live once he's returned to civilian life. And that length of life he'll be living should be made to be as uncomfortable and complicated as it can be in payment for the scandalous - no diabolical! moral conduct that he's exhibited.

At 29:43, he talks about how the intent of the entire Israeli society, including the Prime Minister, was to withhold aid to the Palestinians in Gaza, and then at 31:57 he talks about there's a difference between intent and result and talks about it being a different question between "what was the intent".

@itssanti6 күн бұрын
@@danielquartler1527 I mean, if you just bothered doing some basic research, you'll find out that this conflict started more than 75 years ago, not on october 7th, and by far most of the killings, illegal arrests (some call them kidnappings, just to follow your logic) were carried out by Israel, and some say also, that the majority of the people killed on October 7th were also carried out by Israel under the so called Hannibal Directive. And also, that was acknowledged by the israeli media. In addition to that, the majority of the hostages so far were also killed by the israeli army, even in cold blood, waiving a white flag and speaking in hebrew...I mean, it's not like the government cares that much for the hostages or the victims of october 7th. They saw this as an opportunity to commit a massacre, commit ethnic cleansing and ponder the possibility of settling northern gaza, I mean, that was said repetitively by israeli officials over and over again. It's not like I making things up, this info is easy to check, and you don't need me at all to provide you with this information. Furthermore all of these, are available on the israeli media.

I don't labour under any illusion that Trump will be any better for Gaza, he won't, but Blinken denying that Gaza has been a genocide is ridiculous, as for his question of where the global outcry against Hamas is, the world has seen a formal state actor backed by the US eradicating an already oppressed group within its borders and while the volume of condemnation for this is by no means a measure of support for Hamas, it's not difficult to see why the world is outraged at Isreal in this power dynamic.
