Don't ask me why I'm binge watching texas bbq videos as a Brazilian who's never been to US. But that whole culture is fascinating to me. I specially love that the people interviewd seem to LOVE what they do and don't treat as a job but as art. Brazilian BBQ is worlds away from it starting by the fact that we don't even use brisket here, rarely you see that cut for sale cause it's not seen as a prime cut so it's cheap but BBQers don't use it. Most bbqs here are just different cuts with lots of fat and done over blazing coal real fast like 30min. We love some garlic bread with the meat and we don't really smoke stuff.

This time at Heritage BBQ in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Along with many nods and accolades from the likes of LA Times (101 List), Eater - Smoke Point, and Michelin. Heritage was recently the first listed restaurant in Michelin's all new list "The Best Barbecue in California". Daniel and his team love what they do, and they love working together. They really capture the feel of a true Texas BBQ joint, because everyone is focused and excited for the day of service they're working on. Make sure you check them out if you're ever in the area and let them know I sent you 😁 Also for those interested in helping support my trips for these types of video I started a Patreon www.patreon.com/AntsBBQCookout . After tasting his tacos and tri tip and sausage I made sure to put it higher on the priority list. I'm born and raised in Manhattan Beach, but I make it a point to drive down to Heritage. Worth the 60 miles drive. The food is amazing. Best BBQ in California no question. But Daniel and the crew really make the experience even better than just the amazing food.
