Nice video! For my first time, years ago, I tried to find Lasius n. ants and I only found Formica rufa (which are is protected species so don't bother them). I just realize later that I have some Lasius on my terrace!

Try looking at a different time of year. Also, try blacklighting next year and starting colonies from just queens. Reply if you want to know more about blacklighting.

The best way to get ants is to lay down some banana peels with a little banana still left in it with orange peels and coffee grounds, and trust me, you will get way more ants than you will know what to do with. I learned this with my compost heap.

@@AntsBritania Sometimes between rocks there are cracks i found mine inside of a crack. Ps it is better to search for the queen next year and start from 0 because you do take natura a part wich took years to develop.😉
