May you prosper greatly and continue in the tradition of your illustrious father who has given so much to the art of Sitar playing. He has set new standards in both layekari and complex and powerful taankari, as well as in the tonal quality of the instrument. All this is now being emulated by the new generation of Sitarists. The world of Sitar owes a great deal to Ustad Shahid Parvez, and his name will live alongside the names of Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib and Ustad Raees Khan Sahib.
