EVs are valuable only for people with daily high running withing battery range who can recover the extra cost. Also for taxi drivers. But for people with low daily running who sometimes plan long tours, Series hybrid is the best *(THESE ARE THE MAJORITY PEOPLE)* Also if series hybrid comes with Plugin range of 50Kms then it will be the best.

Mr Anupam, one question for you. Plug-in-hybrid system is better as the battery weight will be reduced. Then why the concept of range extender required? Again, wheels are derived by motor: motor powered by battery pack: battery charged by electric or an ICE engine. Then make it convenient to swap-in-Engine. Means, if battery charged by an engine (generator) then remove the entire engine when not required. It reduces the extra weight. Short range distance will cover with battery. If Long range required then attached the engine again and move forward. Is it possible 🤔! It's a pinch, you are the techy one. Think once...

would have recovered my 14 lakhs when I drive 1.4 lakh km battery warranty till 1.6 lakh km if I assume range as 300km and 1000cycles(minimum)of charging it comes to 3lakh km since it has lfp battery chemistry which generally has 2000 cycles which will be 6 lakh km so pure ev are the future because small battery in hybrid will degrade faster and it will be have to used as ice car only so no point

u messed up the words plug-in hybrid is a class of vehicles and series hybrid is topology in it like parallel and series parallel which also come inside plug-in hybrid if u can charge battery from outside

@AnupamVipul Yes you are right but I would say that a proper series hybrid will have nothing to do with the transmission and there will be no problem of charging it from outside. There will be no stress on the engine of shifting to EV or ice like a diesel locomotive
