Look at the data yourself since 1947 where only a small fraction of the diverse castes in the Schedule caste reservation category have benefited again and again leaving a big chunk as always high and dry . You can make reservation a 100 percent and you will still find people who won’t get the benefit. As of Brahmins , whom you call the oppressors 3-4 percent of the Indian society and yes they are seen as leading the political system on both sides be Pandit Nehru or Atal Bihari Vajpaee or in journalism be it a Arnab Goswami or a Ravish Kumar . And let’s say all of them reached there only because of one factor their caste and those undeserving upper caste living in poverty and with their minion jobs are there because they were not cunning enough to make use of their caste. But you also need to see that this 3-4 percent have on receiving end on caste based violence against a so called upper caste from the very first pogrom in a free democratic Indian government in 1947 till today . Also, you can check the genetic data of India, where you will find Brahmins as a caste group most genetically diverse as they will marry more outside their caste, but you may the that many schedule caste will never do that in the fear of losing reservation benefits or societal norms. Look the idea should be to build a caste less society where everyone has equal opportunity that will create a prosperous society. Equal resources distribution is never a practical solution.

Similarly, Lichvi Brahmins fought against the Muslim Invaders. But the most threatened some like a Ghori felt was from Gurjar Pratihar dynasty, so even many who recognize themselves as backward or are in a race to be identified as one to gain reservation, actually ruled regions in India in the past as their own kingdom. Will the statement 'shudra genes' convey similar implied pride, or will it be an oxymoron? You should look at the problem with empathy. You can have pride in being a brahmin, but there is not much to feel proud by identifying oneself as a shudra. The very definition of it means a state of being with room for improvement, as he is clearly the farthest from brahmagnyan. In Bharat of 2024, if these two statements 'Brahman genes' and 'Shudra genes' cannot convey the same implied feeling of pride, then both should be discarded from vocabulary.

The debate here is whether 'varna' pride has any relevance in 2024. There wouldn't have been much problem if she said something like 'Tiwari genes'. But identifying oneself as 'Brahmin' will naturally result in lower caste groups identifying themselves as 'Shudra', where there is nothing to feel proud about.

I am 49 years old and when my daughter was in 5th standard, in, a convent school lady teacher of social science said in olden times Brahmins used to do atrocities on Dalits and they were very bad and I don't remember all details but the discussion went on for the whole period. The teacher specifically asked children to raise their hands who are Brahmins. She came from school and verified all details from me and cried and said please change my school . My daughter was a studious student, always came in top ranks but was humiliated in front of class.

I am not a Brahmin, but would like to give my opinion on your comment. The present generation Brahmins and for over the past 50-75 years, moreso in Tamil Nadu, Brahmins have been bashed up. I don't think they should be further punished for what was done wrong by their forefathers. To stir up passions amongst her own clans men, and to add spice to her mischief, Anuradha begins her post with the one-liner, A BRAHMIN GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE. She ends her note with what is the most vicious part of her entire post, by articulating the exhortation to her clansmen to UNITE and FIGHT BACK. Here, Anuradha Tiwari is laying all blame or culpability for the unfortunate suicide of a female student, onto the shoulders of the masses and government of India, and then calling for vengeance or retribution against the latter by subtle innuendo. You know what, Anuradha Tiwari's attitude is a direct copy-paste from the Sky Rule book of someone like the tyrranical oppressor Sultan Allauddin Khilji, whose police would barge into the home of Commoner Hindu natives of India upon the untimely accidental demise of a family member for whatever reason, say farming accidents, and round up the brothers, sisters and parents of the deceased person, and bring charges of conspiratorial manslaughter against them all, punishable with death sentence. However, Anuradha Tiwari has slyly and deliberately eschewed making any mention of government expenditure on religious minorities, because in her ingrained Dhimmitude she is a coward who is too scared of stirring a hornet's nest, and besides, doing so will not be in tandem with the antisocial toolkit sponsored by her western EuroMerican backers. Brahmin is a Varna created by God himself. It is not just a profession. In Skanda Puran, Nagara Kanda, Chapter 242, Brahma says in second verse that he came from Vishnu's belly button. A lotus that grew there. Third verse and onwards explains how Vishnu made 4 order system from Brahma. Brahmins are a result of this theological explanation. From a secular POV, they are still more than a profession.

Every other caste wears the caste tag on their chest as if they never oppressed other castes at any point of time in the past. Why should Brahmins be shy of callng self a Brahmin? Brahmins were teachers. And teahers anytime were held in high esteem. You still call a Professor respectfully as "Professor" and not by just his/her name. To say Brahmins did not teach non-Brahmins is again a mis-porpoganda. Brahmins studied Dhanurveda and taught the Kshatriyas. They studied the Sthapathya Veda and disseminated to Vysyas. They Studied the AyurVeda and cured people of all castes. Also they did everything to preserve the Vedas the very fountainhead of our Culture. Kshatriyas can be proud of themselves as they commissioned resources to build temples. Vysyas actually were the engineers who designed the temples with the help of Brahmins. The Vysyas were metallurgists who made the panchaloha, saptaloha vigrahas - non rusting metal sculptures, pillars and structures. Shudras actually built the temples with their hands. So each varna (mind you not caste) can be proud of their ancestry and varnahood. Let us first unlearn what Britishers and their stooges taught us and understand history as is.

Can one be Brahmin by birth? Or is it his/her gunas? A true Brahmin's life is not easy, in fact it's most difficult. A true Brahmin' should dedicate life knowing the Brahman, should live a satvik life (which is not just food btw, it's far beyond that), should not accumulate any material wealth (in fact, they should live on alms/danas from others), should not do business (Vaishsya's dharma), should not do any job or service for others (or else you are in fact, a Shudra). Do you satisfy the above?
