I'm so happy that an influencer is setting up a precedent by not having an extravagant wedding, despite being capable of affording it. Not advocating designer dresses, lavish halls and extraordinarily expensive makeup artists to keep up with the status quo.

I really really love your take on your wedding, it should normally be like this, spending a good but not extra amount on your special day, spend enough to be content but not too much that you start regretting it later, instead invest the money you saved somewhere else, go on a dream trip with your husband and family, spend it on the things that actually give you pleasure. And I agree that infact people who can afford designer stuff but choose not to, they are under a lot more pressure of being judged etc, but you gotta break the circle like Ansushae said. Congratulations 🎊 stay blessed! When I remember what I did on my wedding struggling for shaadi dress. Now I look back and see it a waste of money and time plus energy. Main thing is that you stay blessed and happy in your marriage. Trust me! I wish my ammi or nani or dadi would have kept their shaadi gharara or lehnga which I could have made it into mine and not wasted that much time and money! Keep your wedding dress as classic as you can so it can be used by your next generation or anyone else whome you love...
