Hello Anwen, the make up turned out fabulous today! I apologize for the length of my post, though it has practical advice on make up application. I have done a lot of things over my 15 years and still counting in the cosmetology industry, including make up and teaching said make up. This is the best of my experience and it all comes from a place of support (I apologize if anything is worded harshly, everything I type look tyrannical and mean to me). It is natural and common to be anxious or scared of applying make up to some one else especially for a special occasion. There are ways to reduce the fear while building skill. Practice on friends too see if you like doing it and build skill and confidence. Since you would be working on friends, ask them if you can do a practice run on them before the event, many pros do this too. You can do this multiple times over weeks and months leading up to events. Time is an advantage. You get to practice and you and whoever you're working on can make changes if they would like to. You can get more supplies if you need something. Write down what you did and used and anything you would like to change. You can try again that day, next week or whatever time allows. If you can, work in the kind of light the person will be in for their event. This saves ALOT of trouble. Once you're done, look at them in as many types of light you can (direct sun, indirect, warm and cool toned light, etc.) Take as may pictures as you can, not just for your memory, but some times things photograph differently than how they look in real life. It also keeps a realistic memory of your work, some times people will get nervous from a previous experience, but they can see the picture and boost their confidence. It's a reminder of their accomplishments and it's usually not as bad as they remember it. This can be tricky since some one going to dinner will use different equipment than a bride for pictures. You can also refer to the pictures if you are doing practice runs for some one, as can your client. Ask said client for permission to post pictures of your work online. Get a release form for them to sign if you like. This may become important depending how much make up you end up doing. Have a cape to cover them so you don't get make up on their clothing or use a button down shirt for them to wear so their make up and hair won't get messed up taking it off. Make sure the eyeshadow doesn't stain, so you can fix it if you need to. Also, make up washes of. It's something you can get rid of if you don't like. The day of, give yourself plenty of time to fix things if you need to. Write notes if you need to, some times the nerves take over and people forget simple things, writing down steps you take or anything else is helpful to combat this. Play with the make up you will be using in advance so you know what you need to do to get the best results from it. Watch some tutorials or so other research. Life would have been fabulous if youtube was around when I started. Remember that pros get nervous too. Doing the perfect wing on another person is an extra level anxiety! Teaching others to do make up can rachet up the nerve level. On the bright side, no one is grading you and if you decide you don't want to do their make up, you won't a get a "0" for it :) Again, I apologize for the length of the post, though it is time and experience tested advice that will help you follow your dreams and have the best possible experience. It's also okay if you do follow through and do other people's make up and discover that you didn't enjoy it as much as you thought you would or even don't want to do it any more. I've got a cape to put on my own makeup. So many times now I have dropped makeup on my top, especially little foundation drops, and they are there forever now. Awesome tips! Lots of time is definitely key. Makes all the difference. And learning not to be so hard on ourselves. I am constantly a work in progress, especially because of anxiety, PTSD, fear (whole other talk show, lol). 🙋❤️

This is far and away my favorite Ucanbe palette and I have a good chunk of them. The shimmers are textured and a much thicker formula(in comparison to their more recent thin and/or topper like formula imo). They're really bright and pop on the lid. I know the matte side looks quite warm but you can get so many looks from it, including cool tone. I truly think it's their best for the both the colors and quality of shadows.

That way you get practice and a idea of what she wants and how her eye shape is! I thought I was fairly decent at my own makeup and I have very hooded lids, but my best friend asked me to do her makeup. Well, I found my skills a little less than I had thought! Haha! She didn't have hooded eyes and I had actual lid space to work with! The problem was, I didn't know what to do with it! I wanted to put all the shades on there hahahaha! The look turned out ok but I most definitely need practice since it's such a different application on someone else. 🤗🤩😊💄💅💍

Anwen just a little advice for you cause maybe you didn’t notice it but i noticed when you blend your eyeshadow you only blend on top of your eye and completely forget the outer part (like when you put a darker shade on your outer v) you kinda skip the blending part and i think it will make it look way more professional if you do. And please consider this as a friendly advice i don’t mean to hate on anything you do, you’re the lovelies youtuber ever and i hope that you start doing people’s makeup too! We’re all here for it! Buziulka They are on AliExpress. I think they are in the top best makeup brands you can find there and are just very, very good quality- highly pigmented eyeshadows and everything else is also good quality. Their brushes were kinda meh but other than that I highly recommend them!

If your workmate has asked you to do her bridal look it's because she loves what you do - I say go for it! You can do a few trials without committing. Practice on yourself too and film it while you're at it! I think you made the right decision with the eyeliner. If you have something that looks stunning on its own don't detract from it with something that will fight for attention! I'd stick with black or nothing with a statement shadow like that - it looks beautiful! As always xx

Janis Chaneo.. Kat from Beauty News summed it up wonderfully, 'these children'. I mean, really, swatches ain't shit. Some of my MAC and Sugarpill shadows swatch the worst of my stash, and they're unbeatable.. then, I did think Subculture was finally getting the point across that good swatches also don't mean shit, but apparently not. He did come off a little arrogant and I'm not even talking about the swatches here; he's firmly gonna state priming is a scam, then say you have to use a primer with his palette. 😂😂 I'm behind, but I'd probably forget about the giveaway anyway.. hopefully someone wins that'd be super appreciative and already interested in their palette. I am super interested in that 'tropic' dupe! Have they duped the new all matte 'safari' palette?! I was so into that one, but aside from it being an outrageous price on a 'good' palette, the reviews show it's yet another inconsistent and 'bad' formula. You'd think for what ND charges, she could figure her formula out. If I did have all the money in the world I still wouldn't waste 100+ on an eyeshadow palette that's constantly changing formulas. If Ucanbe hasn't done that one yet, I have faith! It's such a pretty palette!

If you really want to do your workmates makeup why dont you get together and do a few trial runs.
