Love your use of the word “Incontinence” to describe the endemic oil leak(s). Rings true of the BSA Bantam I had in the early 1970’s …

“Incontinence”. It is amazing how you can blend a collection of flaws, anyone of witch would be fatal to many, into an endearing character. Keep doing it!

Though in no way am I as endearing as the Panther, someone with a kind heart could describe me as you have this fine machine. Thanks Nick!

Haha - thanks Doug. I hope you don't leak as much though. :)

Nice to see the steering damper enjoying a look around! Owners do seem to be very attached to these bikes.

My husband rides a 1949 M100 600cc Panther & is restoring a similar machine for me.

My first, when I was 16, was a 1950 M100 rigid with oleomatic forks. Lovely machine. Lucky you Joanne. Good luck with it.

Classic British working man's bike - usually attached to an ugly great sidecar (until they could afford a mini or anglia)

Somebody who really gets old bikes! As I understand it, Panthers are more incontinent than most Brit bikes but forgivable when set against the abundance of character they have. Nice video!

I've watched your Guzzi videos and enjoyed them. Panthers are interesting also. Haven't seen any in the flesh in the states. Thanks.

I always wanted a panther 650 but as I am now disabled, military, I have a 1964 triumph T90 very light and small as well as a vespa 300 aoutomatic scooter and a 650 w kawasaki street scrambler I am having to sell due to its size maybe I can get that panther after all never say never great film thank you

Hi Mikey, My guess is the Panther would be about the same trouble to wheel around as the 650 Kawasaki. Not lightweight for the time, although much lighter than many modern 'full size' bikes, and plenty of fun with a sidecar. Not a highway machine though. Depending on your injuries (and sorry to hear that) you might find starting one a bit tricky though. Whatever you do, safe riding and be well. Nick

My '61 M100 is nearly 100% dry. Has MZ front fork with a disc brake to solve the security issue. And the start up procedure needs just routine and a little determination when kick start. 28Bhp isn't much for a 180kg bike but 8000mls driven in every day life say something. HE is very reliable when served well. The Panther is a Sir and not a She. Sir tells u precisely what he wants. She is always undecided whether this, that or the other ;)

I really like your moto Guzzi but this bike is rather special. I can't imagine how many looks you get as you roll through the streets with that big Thumper

The bizarre problems you had would scare me away from ever ever wanting one! To me problems have to have clearly understandable solution but this model seems to have such screwy lubrication engineering that is so weird no one can pinpoint how it is supposed to work?
@farrider33399 ай бұрын
When u serve the Panther Sir right it will never leave alone. Oil leaks are due to poor understanding for the benefit of correctly seated and fresh gaskets.
