What is a resistor? How does current branch in a network of resistors? How does it "know" how much should flow in each branch? While some detail is given in science and engineering courses about conductors, insulators and semiconductors, resistance is described in several ways. Examples include i. The restriction to the flow of electrons. ii. The difficulty in moving electrical current through a conductor to which voltage is applied. iii. a circuit element which dissipates energy in the form of heat . Sir one thing,how to know what values of resistor should be there in circuit so that it can bear the voltage supplied by the source.Suppose the volt is 220 then what should be the starting resistor value so that the resistor does not burn out.And if resistor is used as fuse in starting point of ac power supply(220vlt) what should be resistor value..plz reply..i am a teacher,intrested in electronic and want to build my own sine wave inverter..i am thinking of learning the course but i am from Assam..
