Review is spot on. This is my first printer and I love it. Super simple, great to learn with. After about 200 hours I had to start gluing the build plate and I've thrown more than a couple prints off the bed. I'm really impressed with this thing and the price seems to keep dropping so it becomes a better deal by the day.

Got one of these on the Black Friday Sale, first one ever, putting it together was like reading an IKEA instructions 😅 one thing that should be really repeated over and over being a bed slinger you MUST have a robust stand/table for this, it will rock harder than ACDC when it gets full speed, had to put it on my kitchen counter for now, it rocks everything else to much. (I have the Kobra 2 Plus)

I haven't seen many reviews about this 3D printer. It's great that you went ahead and did a deep dive into it. I think that bef slingers still have a pretty awesome place in the 3D printing world. I print a lot of TPU and I agree it's been great for that. There are a couple of different pei plate alignment add-ons that you can get on printables to get the plate aligned easily. But yeah, overall it's just been such an easy 3D printing experience

I’m always careful with printers sub 300 bucks so I make them give me two weeks to really abuse it and find its flaws. Overall it’s really impressive

I use the ultimaker cura slicer and theres a setting in there to set your fan speed so its not balls to the wall. And i believe printables has free files for backstops for the build plate. If those are deal breakers for anyone.

When adding g-code by means of the usb stick is there a specific place to add it. I put mine on the usb, but the printer didn't recognize it. I'm using Anycubic slicer on Mac.
@arvfishing8 ай бұрын
You have to add it in the slicer, export the STL to your USB stick, and print it. No way to send gcode to it. You can downgrade the firmware, open up the main board, and plug in for serial port access, then SSH to it. This printer sucks and they want to lock it down so hard. I am requesting a return on mine.

Been thinking about getting a 3d printer. They market the bambu A1 mini very well making it look like a beginner’s dream. The build volume is just so small compared to the competition. This model seems great however seems a bit less user friendly. I like your 3d printing content. I’ve been watching closely trying to find the perfect one for my shop.

I bought the step down of this the kobra 2 neo for my first printer, it took me 10 minutes to assemble and within an hour i had my first bechy from anycubics samples on the SD. I techincally didnt even level the bed right. I just set the extruder sort of close let the auto level do its work and it was good. My boss thought it was cool and he bought one and had it going reasonably quick (he's an old top)

Heat would warp them eventually
@arvfishing8 ай бұрын
I have had one for two months and there are many issues with it. The bed warps easily, is proprietary, has no serial or network interface, no SSH access, horrible support, the slicer sucks and only sends prints via network half the time, limited settings, etc. You WILL have issues with first layer setup, auto bed leveling isn't accurate so you will have to use a piece of paper and move the axis around, etc. Yes, if you want something that works OK out of the box and it is your first printer then go for it but you will be upgrading to something better. Do yourself a favor and skip this and buy a Bambu.
