@AuroraTech How? The elegoo machine seems to be the same but has a 300 degree nozzle vs 260-270. Edit: Maybe speed?
@AuroraTech Жыл бұрын
Kobra 2 is way better in print quality, speed, auto z-offset, and overall build quality. While it doesn't have a 300°C nozzle like the Neptune 4, its suitability depends on how often you will use it to print PC or PA-CF. I would rather get the better quality machine (the Kobra 2 Pro) if I just print PLA PETG TPU ABS ASA Nylon 99% of the time.
@VMTDesign Жыл бұрын
@AuroraTech Thanks for the response. I'm surprised it could that much better. The feature I like on this K2P is the auto z height. That setting getting dialed in what prevents me from using my V2 neo over my other printers.

Love your great reviews. Definitely the best in the business. I'm particularly grateful to see all the different filaments tested, particularly TPU which I use often. I was surprised to see TPU print so well through the reverse Bowden tube from the spool to the left of the machine. I always hang TPU spools above and feed the filament directly into the extruder. It's frustrating to see all of these 3D printer manufacturers making the same mistakes that mar these otherwise excellent printers - no WiFi, a Volcano style nozzle that isn't compatible with the readily available Volcano nozzles to force us to buy a proprietary part, and trying to force us to use their cloud service (I'll NEVER do that) rather than using the excellent LAN features of Klipper. I was preparing to order the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro when I saw this review of the Anycubic Kobra 2 Pro. If this printer allowed me to use Klipper over WiFi, I'd have bought it instead of the Neptune 4 Pro.

Great review as always!!Let me say that that is an award winning extruder-hotend combo, by looking at the close-ups of the nozzle laying plastic at those speeds, you can tell this thing is well tuned to take advantage of klipper speeds without being limited by a poor volumetric flow. I wonder how much volumetric flow this machine can handle in vase mode so...Aurora: would you please consider to add just one more quick test for your upcoming reviews? A print that gradually starts to increase volumetric flow until starts to underextrude. Orca slicer has a volumetric flow test that does something like that. CHeers!
@jz3_3.0 Жыл бұрын
Theoretically 500x0.2x0.4 = 40 mm³/s ... I think the Volcano Hotend can do around 30 mm³/s (at least what I could realize)... But I thinks the limiting factor will be your Filament. Generic PLA probably cannot be process this fast in acceptable quality. Unterextrusion will occur. There is High Speed Filament available already. And as you can see in the review: TPU is still limited to 80 mm/s... Maybe there will be some high speed TPU as well one day :)
@guyonearth11 ай бұрын
I picked up one of these the other day, it seems to work quite nicely, with a couple caveats... One, the auto-level is not perfect. It consistently sets the Z-axis about .2 mm too low, resulting in the nozzle dragging the bed. This seems to be an issue with a lot of printers. Also, the bed seems slightly off, one side is high. I may use some tape to correct that. The other thing I don't like is the placement of the spool holder, it places undue strain on the filament where it enters the filament detector, the angle is wrong. I'm currently feedng it from a dryer reel, but I'll likely engineer a new spool holder that is positioned better. I don't like the filament having to make a sharp bend like that, it's already broken twice. Also, there's no light, so I used a clamp-on one. Speed is excellent on this machine. Pretty noisy, though.

Such a great review I bought a Kobra 2 Pro this morning. Looks like a great printer. I already have a Vyper, Kobra, Kobra go, kobra neo, kobra max and a Kobra 2 from the anycubic range. Been really happy with all of my Anycubic printer so far except the Kobra Go isn’t going well. I have a SV07 but the Kobra 2 seems to be running better that it. My best printer so far is the P1S. I’m sure the Kobra 2 pro will be better than the SV07. My favourite cheapest printer at the moment is the Kingroon KP3S. I have 2 and they print amazing quality prints every time. I got it when the price dropped below $130, and the KP3S, which I thought had problems, works fine. Of course, I know the Kobra 2 Pro is superior in every way, but I'm debating whether I should just stick with the KP3S, which is smaller, quieter, and takes up less space. The KP3S is smaller, slower, but prints really well. I'm debating whether I should return the pro, since I originally planned to buy a larger bed printer at the same time.

I have an ender 3 v2 that took over 26 hours to print a collapsible katana The Kobra 2 pro printed it in 3h59m41s at really good print quality, I am super impressed so far. The only thing that might be an issue for some is how loud it is but for me the trade off is well worth it. Anycubic knocked it out of the park on this printer. Would I buy it again? yes I would buy many if I could afford to.

The only profound review of the Kobra 2 so far! Great job! Thanks for clarifying the non-existing options with regard to klipper and the non-original volcano nozzle. I still hope that ANYCUBIC will release some firmeware updates that enable the full potential of Klipper and I would be very fond of different nozzle sizes. With this speed you actually don't need bigger nozzles, but some filaments and some objects look really cool when printed with 0.8 or 1.0 mm nozzles (e.g. transparent PETG). For me it looks like Anycubic was unter pressure with the release of this printer series. Probably to keep up with Crealty and Neptune launches. However, the full functionality has not been developed yet... So lets hope that they will bring some really cool features in the near future. Have ordered a Kobra 2 Plus. Fingers crossed.

Great review as always. You're right about cloud services...they are bad news 100% of the time, as they make your home network far less secure and hand over any IP you have to whomever is running the cloud. The convenience of just hitting a button on your computer is strong, but I'd rather walk the SD card or USB drive over to the printer myself anyway. One thing: was it just me or did the corners of that nylon card wallet look kinda bad, even after printing out of the filament dryer? Just seemed like it was overextruding to me, the way material was curling up above the level of the nozzle. Actually, a second thing: I'm getting more and more upset by printer manufacturers releasing their own proprietary nozzles. I get that they want to drive consumables sales after the initial purchase, but all this does is make it less convenient for users to install and even find replacement parts. While the printer seems fine enough on its own, I sincerely hope that buyers of the printer will soon have ready access to aftermarket modifications to allow for the use of standard Volcano nozzles.

I expected this to be way noisier and less smooth with these steel wheels. It turned out to work very well, which brings the question why don't more manufacturers use them instead of these pom wheels? Won't these steel ones wear out the rails they're moving on over time?

Screen does look a lot better too. Hate that I cant get different nozzles or hardened nozzles but I think for basically the same price as the kobra 2 this competes with the neptune 4. a slightly larger bed model would have been a nice feature as well but again for the price they are reusing the same platform.

Another great review, but watching the honeycomb test print made me curious if you or any other viewers know why 3D printers (which are just computers following a path) print in that odd (at least to my mind) way of seemingly randomly picking what spot to start printing next. I assumed that they would just follow a path they were already moving down until they finished that path then move to the next line and so on and so forth. But they often seem to do a random spot here, then shoot over and do another random spot elsewhere, then randomly join them together. How do they determine what path to layout? Is it an efficiency thing? A cooling thing? Am I just missing the very obvious logic behind it?

Was it a good 3-D printer? And would you recommend buying it? As a beginner.

Yes, the Kobra 2 Pro is on my recommendation list, which currently includes only 8 out of the 100+ 3D printers we have tested. Please check out auroratechchannel.com
