part of the problem is that they didn’t ACTUALLY use the plot of Much Ado About Nothing. part of it is about friends trying to get two people to realize that they’re in love with each other, those two people never HATED each other, they bickered and were playful. AND the MAIN plot is about slutshaming and destroying a woman’s reputation over something she didn’t even do
