Its such a great hero/villain dynamic. Eddie is essentially an older, more experienced yet talentless embittered version of parker. The symbiote is a twisted version of Peter's spider powers making their adversarial relationship that of Peter fighting himself if he didn't embrace uncle ben's philosophy. I fuckin love it

I was just looking at Joe Madd's work on Venom, and I really like some of his aspects of the character, but he definitely didn't have enough teeth. Venom and Carnage have to have crazy amounts of teeth.

Hey Ethan, why do you say "Todd McFarlane created", and you don't mention David Michelinie, and the fact Dave had written a teaser debut of Venom with Marc Silvestri pencils, MORE THAN A YEAR PRIOR to his run on Amazing? Todd wasn't even the first artist to draw Venom in a Marvel comic, technically, Eddie Brock was drawn in Web Of #18, with the Venom character teased in those pages. Yes, he's a co-creator, but to give Todd "the creator of" status ignores most of this particular character's genesis, at the very least ignoring the half-credit for the writer. I've read Dave, met Dave, interviewed Dave one time: Dave is a cool guy. I'm sure it's just an oversight, but credit where due, Dave is one of those gifts to comics whose creations keep on giving.
