Two months in to playing guitar and this stuff took me where I thought I’d be months from now within hours. Going from not using a metronome to using one changes everything. I’m now hitting the strings with both hands using my body to the beat instead of focusing on only using my arms. It unlocks faster tempos and more advance strumming patterns by feeling it instead of trying think to move your fingers and arm to the beat. I can now strum with only using my index finger and thumb Good Riddance by Green Day using the correct strumming patter D DU UDU at 96 BPM. “Learned the song from Justin Guitars tutorial” I find the hardest chord change in that song is going from Em to D. During that chord change, I’ll do D DU UD. Anyway, now I just open the Google metronome anytime I pick up the guitar, and I couldn’t imagine not using it because not using it sucks! Unless I’m trying learn something brand new, not using it doesn’t make any sense to me anymore. You’ll accomplish like maybe, if you’re lucky about 1/10 of the skill set on a particular study not using the metronome vs using it. More specifically when someone is first starting out, like me. This absolute Gold!
