A joy to add another one of his lines to my list. A wonderful lesson as always. On my marmalade Halloween night I shall be annoying everyone with Bela Logosi's Dead. All the best, keep them coming 😎🎸✅

I just found your site by accident and cannot express how excited I am to learn lessons based on songs I love rather than the typical annoying classic rock. I got this album in the 7th or 8th grade in the late 80s, and never looked back. Also I just watched a live version of this from 81 to confirm the crazy chord shape. This should definitely make me a better player :).
@brendan15222 жыл бұрын
Man i could sit and listen to you playing John McGeoch stuff all day, you are quite brilliant 👏 i just wish i could start to learn how to play but am 61 now and maybe am too late, thanks for all your playing...Brendan
@incredibledisc5 жыл бұрын
If you’re struggling with that big stretch try this. Instead of fretting the 7th on the B string why not try fretting the 2nd fret on the high E then the third fret then back to the 2nd? It sound closer to the tone of the original than the cheat method shown. On a side note - just watched a live clip of the group playing the song and couldn’t believe how fast they played it!

Got to the end of the video, and seen you only used a chorus pedal. lol You got a nice swirly effect out that.

Yes, not exactly sure what he would have used. Chorus sounded best to me, but always think there's a bit of a crossover with flange and chorus, both do a similar job.

@@davidgerrard8661 There's some truth to that too. There's isn't any shredding here, but rhythmic changes are hard to keep fluid playing through the whole song. I'm still working on it as of this evening. Lol

I tried your lesson on "spellbound", but it was just too hard for me. Somehow, I feel I can learn this one, I will be up late nights trying. Bye the way, I was so inspired by your videos, that I bought a fender player series jazzmaster. I know its not the real jazzmaster pick ups, but it sounds awesome to me. There's a really easy way to play the chiming part without the big stretch but also playing it in the same area to maintain the tonality. After hitting the B string on the 7th fret, instead of going to the high E on the 3rd fret (the crazy stetch) simply slide your pinky up one fret to the 8th fret and then slide straight back to the 7th fret to complete the figure. You can actually get it pretty much identical to the recording that way.
