Van dryten played this game like it was a mav/vanguard map but this is a balanced map so you need to be more aggresive to have a chance. Even if its risky. He didnt push enough when he had a huge points advantage. You investing a whole lot of point into the elephant and not really doing anything or getting any flags with it just increased this difference even bigger. He needed to just go for it and push. Playing this passive lost him the game. Tip is to use the lorraine more. It is almost on centaur level bonkers unit.

Yeah I realized the elephant was a dumb call in, but I knew it would allow me to dominate that open area at some point

I wouldn't want it to be changed to be more realistic because it would break the gameplay but this game really doesn't give the 75mm cannons justice on how lethal their HE shells were to infantry. in general the HE shells on cannons are underpowered but this is definitely one of those decisions I think is necessary because nobody wants to see an IS-2 one shot sniping squads across the map.

Just compare HE of support guns (inf guns and support tanks) with the HE of same (or very similar) gun on tank.

@@mimile4462 sherman and T-34 both had about 660-680 grams of explosive filler in their HE frag shells with the dispersion of lethal fragmentations being only about 10-15% less than that of a 105mm howitzer per US testing in the early 1940s. as for the panzer IV it also had 660 grams of explosive filler. the infantry guns actually had the same HE filler for the 75mm guns but the higher velocity guns of the Panther, Sherman 76mm were a fair ammount lower. the biggest thing to note is that the 85mm gun on the T43-85 actually had an even larger amount of HE filler than the 76.2mm guns at 775 grams of TNT. these things have a lethal radius several meters from the impact point. now looking at the 122 of the IS-2 you are looking at around 3.8 Kilograms of HE filler so its a pretty huge difference. again though I don't want to see the IS-2 sniping infantry squads in one near miss out to 2Km in the game so I don't feel this should be made to be more "realistic"

@@dominuslogik484 that's a lie. Panther used the exact same HE shell as panzer-4 long and 50% more explosives than panzer-4 short

I'm a new player, so if you don't mind me asking: Why didn't you use artillery more in this match? Is the map more tank focused or something like that?

Well I was pretty behind in territory so it was difficult to invest in back line units like arty when I am trying to survive on the frontline

Oh by the way AtkPwr, would you have interest in playing other games outside of the strategy genre? I saw you did a frostpunk video which is more of a city builder so perhaps either Farthest Frontier or the upcoming Manor Lords title could be a fun thing to play on off days for you. (I would avoid breaking the usual SD2 schedule, maybe do other games on weekends.) outside of that to stick with the historical theme of the games you tend to play Sprocket could be a nice game for you to do short videos on as they added geometric internals for designing tanks with the engine, transmission, crew layout and cannon arrangement all being customizable. and of course as a Warthunder player I think it could be fun to see you play Warthunder, I am sure you could find some enjoyment running the German tree as their equipment seems to be your primary point of enthusiasm for world war 2. (Maybe you could even play with some of your subscribers/patrons for team shenanigans)

@@atkpwrgaming It might be good to branch out a bit to grow your audiance, a bit tricky though as I am sure most of your current audience is unlikely to be interested in everything else you play and you currently have a daily schedule for posts all tied to one game. definitely should stick to a theme for the sake of KZbin recommendation algorithm. Warthunder is definitely the safest one for branching out of the RTS genre as you would still get labeled under the "Historical" games.

Attack power is very skilled at using the minimum amount of troops to accomplish something, but at the same time I feel like he likes to randomly build up a points. I feel like he also tries to play different decks the same even though they have different strengths and weaknesses.
