@@cattymouse4996 7ft at the shoulder, but yeah, could be 9ft if you measure at the top of the antlers. Moose are fucking terrifying, "deer with roid rage" doesn't really do them justice. Have you ever heard of Megaloceros, the "giant elk"? It's the largest species of deer to ever live and went extinct at the end of the last ice age. And it was, get this, the same size as an Alaskan bull moose. The only reason it's considered bigger/taller was because its head was held higher than that of the moose and its antlers were even more gigantic (up to 12 ft in diameter compared to the moose's 6-7ft), but they stood at pretty much the same shoulder height. Moose are megafauna through and through. I wish to see one in person one day, but that could easily be the last thing I ever do.

In The Hobbit films, the horse that Lee Pace (Thranduil) rode was a huge horse that was actually called Moose. They used him for all the riding scenes and he caused so trouble because every time Lee said his lines, the horse would start shuffling sideways. They turned Moose into a stag during the editing.

I once played one of many trees in a school play. It was a Hansel and Gretel musical type thing where the trees sing a warning to the children to leave (presumably in some tree language because the two never really respond to the warning) and start dancing around the stage. Moose aren't used in battles mostly because they're prey animals that are scared of gunfire, while being harder to feed and more susceptible to diseases than horses, not because they're weak and can't carry people. For the record, the USSR did try to domesticate moose for military use. And besides, those things weigh anywhere from 200-490kg for females and 380-700kg for males. It's hard to imagine something that big being unable to carry 60-odd kilograms.

I have once F*cked up a great person in Civ VI, in the end it didn't really matter, but it's kinda funny. So, standard Rome domination game, 3 Civs left (other than me of course) great engineer comes up, really bad ability, pass on him, go on with my game. Conquer the last civ standing and think "Hum, I think I want to Sim-city a bit, go back into the game look at the great people screen and Oopsie. Since I passed up on the great engineer I couldn't claim him...and since I had Killed everyone else on the map neither could anyone else. So, yeah, where's my beer?

Interesting thing... Sweden actually tried Moose cavalry at one point... but it turns out that Moose can't be domesticated well enough to be used in battle and the first time they were used they just threw their riders and attacked everyone...

lol, jonk story of his play as a child brought memories of my plays at school, so fun, i remember once, we were doing a play for the younger grades, and literally one kid from the audience stole my horse as i was riding by...i also remember forgetting one line which made it so we completely skipped an entire scene which was the only time two of my classmates apeared jajaja , good thing we repeated the play like 7 times that day, so they werent left out

I feel like a play from jonks civilisation would be like if Shakespeare had access to acid and wrote with his non-dominant hand and the hand was drunk😂😂😂

As someone who lives in America with a state that has Moose, they can absolutely carry someone in full plate on their backs. Hell they could carry three at least

Oh I love to see you guys stream World of Tanks. The only limitation would be you can only have three man platoons. War Thunder, however, doesn't have that limitation though. Although, the damage model is a lot more realistic.

there is a possibility that in the 17th century Charles XI of Sweden used moose cavalry but it's disputed if this is true. Also there is a weird old law in Finland from around that period saying that no man may form a cavalry unit riding moose, but again the authenticity of the law is disputed.

I do mean to remember there was a sweedish king who tried making a moose cavlery, but it failed since they couldent domesticate the moose and lost alot of riders from either death or injuries
