I know it is a year later, but I wanted to comment anyway. In watching your videos I now know why my attempts of reproducing a MRR published trackplan on a layout never worked out. Some of my favorite plans I never could get right. As drawn the plans do not meet factory produced tracks/turnouts. I am about to start doing this with a few published plans to see what is feasible. One thing I want to try is to combine two plans into one layout. I got my three surfaces laid out, in three layers, to combine two shelf switching layouts.

Hi. Glad you were able to finally use a published track plan. That ability is one of the things that attracted me to AnyRail. And, man, are you right about how the track plans are drawn versus the reality of switches and other components that you buy. The plans by Ian Rice are the worst, no offence to Ian, and I think I misspelled his name. And I mispelled misspelled too. As long as you can scale the two or three plans correctly, you should have no problem combining them. Let me know how it turns out. Dave

@@steampoweredradio2981 I got the first one laid out. It is pure switching. No loop. A10'x12' L shape. Represents a downtown/industrial warehouse plan. It has 13 warehouses to switch. It has elevation too. The original plan is very short on runarounds. I have been tweaking it so I can have the necessary runarounds without trapping a loco. I am designing it to operate with two early Boxcabs and one 0-8-0 yard goat in N scale, all DCC. Though I model in On30 now and will continue to do so, I do have a huge collection of billboard reefers and outside braced boxcars left over from my N scale/N-Trak days. I want to display those bright colorful cars in the era just before the ICC banned billboard reefers in 1932. Currently I designed the layout with all Peco Code 55 with 26 Turnouts, 3 Wyes, 35 pieces of flextrack adding up to a little over 125' of track length. It is not crowded either. There is plenty of room for a wide stone or brick roadway down the middle the full length. The roadway is there. I will probably end up in the doghouse with the wife if I start building it. I'm not sure I could get away with a second layout. I have more than enough flextrack. I don't have, but few of the turnouts.
