Honestly, I love Sutton's version, but Patti's just so different? Like they're kinda hard to compare. Yes, Sutton doesn't need oxygen and is a great dancer, but Patti's volume and resonance.... wow!

Yes Patti's Voice is Astonishing. It is Incredible. She is a Fantastic Vocalist and Amazing stage Presence. You never see performances like this. Its rare to have singers who can sing like this anymore. Yes Resonance is just that!

I'm glad this was posted - I prefer the Sutton Foster version (I just adore her interpretation of Reno) because she seems more involved with the dancing and I think the tapping is amazing, but it's interesting comparing the two. I feel sorry for the poor girls in the chorus of this one - the costume designer was obviously a man :).

I love the costume design in here. It looks more realistic. Pattis Voice is beyond Amazing. Patti really acts like Reno in real life. Sutton Foster is more like a Marlene Monroe Verizon of the 40's and 50;s, which isn't how that era actually was. Patti has the true 40's and 50's voice of that time. Frankie Lymon shares that same kind of vocal tone, its so hard to explain, but it was very different from the kind of oldies we portray today. Sutton Foster has a different personality, then Patti and Patti really acts like Reno in real life to anyone who knows Patti, this is her natural character. As Sutton Foster is much softer in personality, she really looks like Marlene Monroe, which is how so many people display oldies today and its actually in accurate description of that time. So too me Patti's is soo much more like the lost vocalists of that time period. You never hear anyone sing like that anymore. They had a tone that I can't explain and the way they used diction, and projection was the same in the 50s as Patti uses it. The 50s were Really good singers too.

I personally love the dance, here it just matches the song and Patti's personality. Sutton Fosters is Cliche. Kind of Stereotypical Modernized Verison of that time period. Which is how everyone today represents the 40s and 50s and it is just so wrongly represented. I personally love the 50s and the rare vocalists of that time.

Lols Alicia Keys is good, but.... Mariah Carey, Vocally Absolutely No comparison. How can people not support a Raw Vocalists Like Patti. Vocal Talent, skill and development is no longer important in this society, but it used to be. Sutton is good, she plays Reno, Patti IS RENO! Anyone who knows the story and knows Patti knows that Patti's personality is like Reno In real life. How can anyone compare voices between them too, its like undermining the skill Patti has when people say that. When you have a raw vocalist. Idk how anyone can compare her to Sutton or why people do that. Patti's Acting here is practically her natural personality! Reno's Character looks perfect with Red hair, as red hair often is referred to as firey personality. Reno was bold, and sarcastic, just like Patti Actually is in real life, look at any of Patti's interviews etc, she literally livesssss like Reno lols. Everything in the script is identical to how patti is for real.

Sutton's a great dancer, but in terms of acting and vocal, Patti ate everyone up. Maybe because I don't like the pristine "white-coloured" modern broadway diction.
