On the thumbnail, Halle Berry said she thought she won Miss USA 1986 because Bob Barker called her name first. She competed at the 1986 Miss World Pageant and made the Top 7. From 1981 to 1991, the first runner-up at Miss USA competed at Miss World. 1990 first runner-up, South Carolina, Gina Tolleson won Miss World 1990.

The obvious winner was Miss Texas, who IMO should have also won Miss Universe instead of being first runner up!

At 1:22:18, which hotel that the delegates for Miss USA 1986 was she talking about? I think she was referring to The Hyatt Regency in Miami, right? Could somebody answer that question for me, please?

Halle nailed the final answer, but Texas was just too strong overall. Too bad Christy ran into Barbara at MU.

They did some of those girls dirty. Lots of prettier girls left standing clapping. Would have replaced at least 5 of the top ten. Mai Shanley actually competed at Dream Girl USA against Missouri and a couple of other of the girls. Missouri made the top 10 at Miss America a couple of years prior so not sure why her score was so low.

Miss America is strongly based on talent and intelligence. Miss USA is mostly just picking the prettiest girl who also happens to have a charming personality and requires no established talent. From what I read, Missouri was a talent winner at Miss America so it was likely the pageant that allowed her to shine more. Halle(Ohio), Christy(Texas and Miss USA) and Kelly(California) were the prettiest contestants in the top 10 and top 5 imo. What I truly don't understand is how Miss Wyoming won Miss Photogenic. She was easily the least attractive of the top ten. Maybe it was the hair.
