i received mine a couple of days ago. I love it! I am a new ham and I think this is the BEST dual band radio for the money. I just had an extended QSO with it through my local club repeater, and yes it gets a little warm. It wasn't an issue. The display is excellent! Anytone radios might be Chinese but they are good. This is no exception. Inexpensive and capable. 73.

You can make it so the p1 through p6 buttons do what you want.Also depending on what frequency youare on I have seen 27wts out of my radio.I really am glad I have this I ended up getting two.One for a base and one in my jeep .I love the can feature.

I’ve had this radio for a little over a year now and it’s a very good radio for the price, and also, it’s very easy to program without a computer.

just bought on of these. I like it. I had to look up the buttons and functions. I hit every repeaters I usually talk on with 5 watts. I like to program by hand. I could use my pc but I have to take the radio move it by my pc. I bought this cause of the price and reviews. I did buy a alinco from a halfway. It didn't have a hand Mic. I went on eBay and ordered the during Mic. The seller refunded my money. After that I sold the alinco for what I had in it and bought this good review

Early versions of this radio the dtmf tones did not work useless for dtmf programing if a repeater controller. Do they work now? 4/2023 . 1-0 and A B C D keys .

So do you want to do gmrs license or a ham license and or just listen if you’re looking for repeaters for Gmrs you can go to mygmrs.com to see if there are any in your area and ham you just look up repeaterbook.com and for air band you could try www.Radioreference.com I hope this helped 👍🫡

You hit the fun button and the six others will change on the screen, then “at least mine” will be the bottom right button “p6” marked BND for band, hitt that button until the screen comes to the air band which will be between 108 and 137 MHz. The lowest 10 MHz of the band, from 108 to 117.95 MHz will be narrow band while the others are wide band.

you should add a mini fan or a pc fan to it that should help you out with cooling the radio on long sessions.

@@RangeRadio101I'm working on one this weekend, using a thermal switch at 60 degrees C, and a chassis fan for a computer. I'll be bonding the switch and fan directly to the cooling fins using sikaflex.

Let’s assume I know absolutely nothing about this, because I don’t. My knowledge is when I press and talk there’s a chance someone else will answer. So hearing all this might as well be Chinese. Will this replace my CB and then also give me GMRS, FRS, VHF, and UHF? And is it reliant on cellular networks? And the warming problem…is this just when you’re transmitting or can you monitor without burning the unit up? I’m looking to put a unit in my Ford, Suburban, and my travel trailers.
@bobdillashaw4360
@bobdillashaw4360 Жыл бұрын
Unless you’re looking to replace your cb with different frequencies, then no it won’t, it’s a uhf/vhf Ham radio, not a cb radio, no it’s not reliant on cellular, it does however work with repeaters that are usually high up in mountains or tall buildings,and no it’s not reliant on repeaters as you can talk simplex,”radio to radio” and yes, once you perform the mod to the radio which you can find on KZbin and is very easy to do by the front face and hand mic, you can “program gmrs and frs frequencies” into it, no need for instructions as you can find everything you need to know on KZbin for this radio. With all that being said, as a cb radio hobbyist and a ham/gmrs license holder, I would never ever replace my cb radios, if you’re having problems with the cb, you’ve done something wrong in the initial set up.
@visamedic

@@bobdillashaw4360 Nope. CB is fine, but this will be a good addition. Will probably mention it to our manager as well for unit to unit comms on fire standbys.

it's terribly hot when broadcasting, it's better to pay extra and buy anlico transistors, they're not well grounded on the cooler, only through the flat, it's a shame they didn't make it better

@RangeRadio101
@RangeRadio101 10 ай бұрын
@@rickramirez7710 this is only my opinion it is not professional advice. It only goes up to 25 W on VHF and UHF it’s lower so I would feel it would be safe with the proper cigarette, lighter adapter
@RangeRadio101
@RangeRadio101 10 ай бұрын
But with anything it would be safer to run it straight to the battery, but it also depends on how many amps your cigarette lighter can pull

Which antenna you using for GMRS?
@RangeRadio101
@RangeRadio101 7 ай бұрын
Browning BR-450 UHF Land Mobile Base Antenna, for car and Tram 1486 UHF Land Mobile Base Antenna, Silver, 63" Tall for the base antenna with Messi and Paoloni 10 coax that I feel was the biggest and most important thing for Gmrs is good coax so you do not lose your power transferring it from your radio to the antenna
