This is a mobile unit, at 15.5 volts you would see more then advertised. But at that wattage and voltage you wouldn’t be doing it any favors. Definitely would have a heat issue

@HamRadioCrusader I got my tech plus license, back when there was still tech plus.... and never upgraded. Then I stepped away from ham radio for a couple decades due to personal happenings... just renewing my license when it was up for renewal. I sold everything. My HF rig (for 10 meter only lol) and my 2m/70cm radios. Now, I'm getting back into the hobby.... and having to buy/acquire all new radios/antennas, etc, and currently studying for my general. I figured this looked like a GREAT little vhf/uhf radio for both the shack and the truck. And the price.... the price is CERTAINLY right. Didn't look like it was TOO unintuitive as many of the less expensive radios tend to be. That may just be because of the programmability using software. When I was active before... that wasn't a thing lol. Anway... thanks for the video.... your channel will definitely be one of my goto channels for ham.

Great little unit that is good value and has good power for its size. I need something like that at home to hit my repeaters.👍 Oh, how did the little fella know I'm old?!😂

Thanks for the vid! I own the Retevis RA25 for GMRS with the 'Secret' mode that'll open up for dual band. Maybe yours can do the same but to open to GMRS? Looks exactly like the Anytone model. Keep on rockin' it! 😎

Your right about that, these radios are all the same. (Radioddity DB20G, Retevis RA25, Anytone 779UV)

I have the Anytone unit and I wanted to ask can you transmit on the 2 meter and/or 70 centimeter bands with this radio?

I LOVE this little radio. I thought of using it for a giveaway and I can’t seem to part with it.

I cut the cigarette lighter cord off put Anderson power poles on both ends s o, I could use it in my truck and on my shack supply, solid little radio. If you mod the frequency range, you get Ham and GMRS.

Yup, I ended up doing the exact same thing. 73

@@HamRadioCrusader I'm considering buying this radio, watched the entire video, thanks. Is it pretty easy to access the GRMS freq. I would really like to use it as quick little GMRS, as well as 440. thanks KQ4MVZ

Mine maxes out the advertised 20 watts at high power. I wonder what accounts for the difference? 80 watts seems like it would really heat the unit up! But regardless it has been a great radio for me.

look at the voltage display on the radio. 15.5 volts.

Have a question. I just bought an Alinco DR735T Don’t really like the microphone that came with it. I do like the Anytone mic. Didn’t know it it would be compatible?
@HamRadioCrusader5 ай бұрын
@@clintcornett79 it’s not compatible I call it an Alinco type because of the hanger tab at the top of the microphone

What software are you using?
@computerinsider Жыл бұрын
You did the power meter all wrong. You used REF power (that's reflected) not FWD (forward) power. Also USE A DUMMY LOAD that way you can get the power 99% accurate because a antenna can take power from you.
