my family lost all the father and son on the western front which was also all the man from that family which also left left behind a widow and 6 sisters behind without a husband a father and a brother ,many other familys suffered but it touches the heart to be rememered by such a great country.

How true. I was at Galipoli in 2009 (in late Oct) it was so quiet and peaceful and such much understandable. My first visit to Villers Bretoneux was also "out of season", about 10 or 15 days before the 90th anniversary of the Armistice. There were just 3 of us in the Australian memorial that day. RIP Lest We Forget.

Gary thanks for these videos. I hope they help younger Australians to understand what the sacrifice of war means. As an aside for a number of years the year 11/12 students from Mackay North (Qld) made a "pilgrimage" to both ANZAC Cove and later to Villers Bretoneux. They did their research and found out that there were locals (elderly men and women and younger ones) who had direct connections with Gallipoli and the Western Front. They marked each grave with an Australian Flag and recited the Ode, often with tears in their eyes or running down their cheeks. They knew and understood the sacrifice. Thanks
