@@juxa001 Hi, I am very very pleased with this screen, from the design, color accuracy and premium feel of the build. Using it for about 3 weeks now, and enjoying it very much for gaming and normal desktop use. PS. When you get this screen just play around with screen settings abit to get your perfect brightness, hue , contrast etc. After that your good to go. Good luck ( The color is really good)

I have just bought this monitor and since I came from TN panel my biggest concerns were ips glow, backlight bleed and brightness. I can confirm that none of those are an issue. The only donwside with this monitor are anoying small buttons used to set it up.

@@PCMonitors There is another issues I've noticed, using monitor's ICC profile makes certain shades of blue purplish (etc facebook title, but not the logo iteself), changing to any other ICC including yours fixes it..

@@PCMonitors I got to say this monitor definitely has a white uniformity issue. While displaying white the left side is yellowish while the right side is a bit redish. Hence it might be considered as unsuitable for office use (word etc). Reducing the amount of white with blue light filter does help a bit but it's not ideal.

My review sample wasn't particularly bad in that respect (pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/#Contrast_and_brightness ), but my unit could be the one in the minority! As covered in the written review uniformity varies between units. It isn't uncommon to see such uniformity issues on modern monitors, at least to some extent. Even significantly more expensive ones than this can suffer. The wide gamut exacerbates any uniformity issues as well as it can make tints either way more noticeable.

Hello! thankyou for all the effort you put into this review it is greatly appreciated, I'm in the market for a new monitor as an digital artist who quite enjoys gaming in his spare time, and this looks like a great pick for me, I just wanted to ask ne question about the G-sync though, you mentioned that the monitor was g-sync certified, I could not find a mention to this on Nvidias list of certified monitors, so I just wanted to confirm with you that g-sync has been working for you on it?

Per the review, it worked correctly with 'G-SYNC Compatible'. It is certified in the graphics driver as shown in the written review, Nvidia may not have updated their list correctly to show this. The certification process is ridiculously long from what monitor manufacturers have told me and sometimes Nvidia lists certification on their page for an older variant without mentioning the newer variant as well - pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/#VRR_Variable_Refresh_Rate_technology.

Thank you for the in-depth review of this monitor , I have few questions if you don't mind providing with me with an answer . Does this monitor have freesync premium ( I got amd card ) ? Also, I have seen Hardware Unboxed claiming this model (24g2 sp) has slower reponse time compared to its predecessor ( 24g2 2020) .Oddly, Techless recorded a 6.5 response time on strong overdrive while Hardware Unboxed got 8 ms!! , why are these values are so inconsistent ? .Does response time depend on the unit you get ?.

Per the review, FreeSync works correctly on this monitor despite it not being officially certified. I can't speak for other methodologies and there can be some inter-unit variation (different panels are used interchangably on the original 24G2/24G2U, if you're not aware). I drew comparisons between the 24G2(U) and 24G2SP(U) in the review. The 24G2SP(U) was slightly faster but had a touch more overshoot as a result, though the differences aren't dramatic and most people will find either model fine in that respect - pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/#Responsiveness.

Best review I have seen on this model and just subbed! I am thinking about downsizing from 27” Dell S2721DGF 165hz 1440P IPS to a 23.5/24” 1080P 144-240hz IPS. Reason is because I want to extend the life of my RTX 3070 SFFPC and be able to play on Ultra on all modern games at > 60hz. Don’t fancy changing out every part and case for the 40 series. This monitor is available in my region for 180€ but I was also thinking about the Asus ROG Strix XG249CM 23.5” 270hz IPS which is 100€ more. I have not seen any reviews of this monitor for some reason. Do you have any experience with it? Do Asus ROG strix IPS monitors have comparable contrast and colours compared to this great AOC monitor? I am used to Plasmas and OLEDs and my Dell is abysmal with contrast. Yes I aware its IPS but my Son’s budget Asus 1080P 144hz IPS has better contrast than the Dell.

This AOC is quite special in the segment due to the well-rounded performance, including impressive contrast for an IPS panel. I don't have experience with the XG249CM but I am aware the BOE panel it uses doesn't have the same contrast as this AOC. It's stronger than the Dell S2721DGF in that respect though, that model uses an LG Display Nano IPS panel with notoriously poor contrast.

I'm interested in buying one of these, my main concern is color bending. Have you noticed any of that. I need a monitor that will be suitable for Graphic Design as well as gaming. Colour banding isn't an issue (this would've been mentioned if it were, especially in the written review). But as covered in the review the monitor has a wide gamut, so if you aren't able to calibrate it with a colorimeter or similar device it isn't ideal for colour-accurate work. You can try the ICC profile as advised in our written review, which will provide gamut mapping and other corrections for ICC aware-applications but each individual unit is different so it's not as good as calibrating yourself - pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/#Calibration. Furthermore, the monitor doesn't support a 10-bit signal, which may or may not be relevant depending on your workflow. More suitable alternatives - pcmonitors.info/articles/best-photo-and-video-editing-monitors/.

The only IPS Monitor I ever had was from a cheap Acer laptop and I hated the IPS glow. I'm between this monitor and the Lenovo G25-20, which has a TN panel (my current monitor is a cheap ASUS TN monitor). I think the bad IPS glow is a much bigger problem than bad viewing angles, especially because I'll never be using the monitor while not being directly in front of it. What is your opinion, especially on the IPS glow of this monitor?

Ultimately very subjective, this is a much better monitor so I'd recommend giving it a go. Per the review there are some ways to mitigate 'IPS glow', but you can't mitigate the poor colour quality of a TN model or the terrible gamma consistency. You tend to sit closer to a laptop screen as well, which makes 'IPS glow' worse.

Depends on your viewing distance and eyes. It doesn't have any particular subpixel related issues, but it's a ~24" Full HD monitor so doesn't have the highest pixel density in the world.

No, but I have received solid user feedback on it. Apples vs. oranges compared to this model. It has better contrast, that's the key advantage. But certainly not "better colour reproduction" as it has the usual VA gamma and saturation shifts and the gamut when measured in the same way is similar to this model. So it actually has worse overall vibrancy. It also has significantly worse pixel responsiveness! Also, as per the review the 24G2SP(U) actually goes up to 422 nits, so the brightness specification is massively conservative - pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/.

If you have a colorimeter or similar device to calibrate it with then yes. Because otherwise the sRGB emulation mode is too restrictive and isn't really all that well calibrated. You might find the GPU-level alternatives mentioned in the written review work for you (pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2spu-24g2sp/#Colour_reproduction ). If you want a monitor that's better for content creation within the sRGB colour space and a similar price I'd recommend the Acer XB253Q GP - pcmonitors.info/reviews/acer-xb253q-gp/.

It also offers a slight boost in maximum refresh rate and slightly more aggressive pixel response tuning - arguably better for higher refresh rates but a touch worse for relatively low refresh rates. The refreshed panel also seemed to offer improved colour consistency, as noted earlier."
