How? Citizen's United had the government claiming it could regulate "political speech." So SCOTUS told the government to define "political speech." The government could not but said trust us, we know it when we see it! Of course, we still live in a sane society and SCOTUS tossed that law. The Supreme Court being a position that you get elected to for LIFE is so fucked, nobody in any democratic system should have their position until they resign or die, that’s not democratic at all. Especially because judges are fallible human beings who do have biases, even if they like to pretend they don't. When you get down to the bottom of it, a judge isn't making objective judgements, they’re being persuaded by arguments, and whoever has the most persuasive argument wins.

This is a ruling that could’ve gone either way and the court never ruled the president would have immunity to do anything. It is only certain things. the wording of the ruling is scary. " it does not matter, the justices said, if the requested investigations were based on sham allegations or based on an improper purpose." this gives a president carte blanche to leverage the power of the justice department to attack their political opponents, and complete immunity to any prosecution after. Biden could open an investigation, and make trump respond to and defend himself, about trump eating babies (as one random example) for NO OTHER REASON than to hurt his chances of winning the presidency. It will be all over the media. and he would be completely protected from any prosecution. We cannot allow the president to use the public services as part of their campaign to suppress challengers.

I commend AOC on her courage and expeditious action to file Articles of Impeachment. Leave it to the women of strong character to lead. I'd put Liz Cheney in that category too. Many people are angry about the corruption & the power grab by the six justices to insulate the president, call it dictator now, who is now immuned from accountability from wrong-doing.
