I agree on the term limits for Congress. However, I disagree on the length being 10 years. It should be 8 years. 2 terms, each term 4 years long. If people can serve as President for no more than 8 years, then it should be the same for Congress, the *ONLY AND I MEAN ONLY EXCEPTION* to this is if the person in Congress is elected with a 90%+ majority from their state. It is talking about things that a President might have to order to protect the country so he cannot be sued or charged when he gets out of office. Like for instant let’s say we were in a war and the president order something to be bomb. Not knowing civilians were in there.. well this protects them from being charged after the fact. For instance when Biden pulled out of Afghanistan, and some of our troops were killed. This would protect Biden from being able to be charged with a crime for those deaths. Which all though he messed up big time, still as President Biden can’t not be charged for making a mistake. It in know way give a President now or in the future the power to go on a crime spree. Or to fill their own pocket. Let's think critically here for a second 1. Why should any president, democrat or republican, be above the law? Why are presidents committing crimes in the first place? 2. "Official Acts" is a very broad term. Does this precedent introduce an opportunity for that to be leveraged into authoritarian actions? 3. How does Trumps disagreement with election results classify as an "Official Act"? With something like project 2025 on the table with support from GOP members, we may have few opportunities to have a democratic voice in the future.
