Good argument but the problem is they would already be appointed to the Supreme Court so there would be no automatic mechanism removing them from the bench. Lying under oath is called "perjury". Perjury is an offense that occurs in a judicial setting. How ironic that the persons committing perjury here are the very justices in that very judicial setting. _"A person convicted of perjury under federal law may face up to five years in prison and fines. The punishment for perjury under state law varies from state to state, but perjury is a felony and carries a possible prison sentence of at least one year, plus fines and probation."_ If a court of law is a solemn enough venue that lying under oath (perjury) is a punishable offense, I'm thinking that a *hearing before the Congress of the United States of America* is just as solemn, if not very much more so, a venue where lying under oath (perjury) is a punishable offense.

This whole "lie" gibberish is nothing more than Tammany Hall Senators looking to preserve their cut of the Planned Parenthood kickback scam. Actually, the nomination game requires nominees all express fealty to stare decisis, which they all do in good faith, because that is never in question. The Senators all know, however, that a nominee cannot prejudge the outcome of any specific case. Even if they did so in confirmation, the specific circumstance of Dobbs makes the hypothetical statement moot. Again, any hypothetical case under oath cannot be cited as a lie relative to an actual case en banc. Hence, this whole claim is more claptrap "Trump lied," poop--not that Tammany Hall won't run with it in its permanent committee on impeachment, but it's still just more poop.

That lifetime appointment is as antiquated as the 2nd Amendment, which was written when people still used muskets and modern law enforcement was decades away. 200 years ago the average life expectancy was about 35-40, which also explains the minimum age for becoming president. With these people in particular having access to some of best medicine and health care on Earth, a 50 year old appointee can expect to be there for 30 years easily. Congress should have term limits for the same reasons. The power and influence one gains by being somewhere for decades is too often misused(Mitch McConnell certainly comes to mind)
