Also kinda funny how they depict the Aztecs as the good guys when in history, the Spaniards lead various meso-american peoples in rebellion against their Aztec tyrants who were unnecessarily cruel to encourage people to rise up and become sacrifices. The Spaniards weren't really good guys either (I can't think of many conquerers that were) but Cortez was a better figure than Columbus.

@@cadunkus Wasn't it that Cortez went to Mexico for the glory and sunk his ships so that none of his men would get the idea of returning back to Cuba to let the governor (and then Spain) know of a ripe land fresh for conquest... Because Cortez wanted the glory and the loot for himself first.

16:20 The list of techs the enemies get by destroying the Aztec Wonder are... special: - Carrack (Portuguese unique tech): ships +1/+1 armor - Artillery (Turkish unique tech): cannon units +2 range - Kataparuto (Japanese unique tech): Trebuchets pack/unpack 4x faster, fire 33% faster - Fabric Shields (Inca unique tech, used to be Couriers): Eagles +1/+2 armor So according to Age of Empires, the Spanish invaded the Aztecs with the help of the Incas, the Portuguese, the Turks, and the Japanese. But at least the Koreans were nice and gave the Aztecs some nice Turtle Ships.

@@rovsea-3761 No idea how I missed that, you're absolutely right. The Maya join the conspiracy against the Aztec-Korean alliance! I guess it makes sense, the Tlaxcala saw T-West using Monks for pacifism, so they got Eagles with Garland Wars, El Dorado, and Fabric Shields as the ultimate counter.

6:50 Cortés demoted his 2 fellow Cnqistadors riders to villagers ( and the 2 conquistador horses into wild horse ) , made some priests and began converting Tlaxcalan villagers until they had enough and tributed him some resources to make him their ally . He then used the wood & Stone he recieved to make a TC , learnt a build order , built a big town ... and that bring us to the Quetzalcoatl scenario

I prefer t-west content over SOTL content any time though. SOTL is pumping out videos en-masse (because its good for the algorithm and you kinda have to do that if you want to do it for a living), whereas t-west seems to take his time. And the difference shows.

I've actually done an experiment with Tabasco to see if they ever do get rather strong. I cheated a bit and made an impenetrable defense to make sure they had room to grow and monitored it for about an hour and a half while watching a movie. Unfortunately they barely do anything. At most they make a few Eagle scouts and mostly just a bunch of villagers. I rarely had them attack either enemy. Useless ally indeed, but still fun to have a little friend to defend I suppose.

I was really looking forward to this campaign, it's one of my favourite campaigns but feel a little cheated in scenario 4. I've tried that rush strat but clearly nowhere near as well as you and was kinda curious how you were going to go doing it the long way. Also I love that you bring in the old voices for some things like the intro when it was better (and i think the scenario 5 voice actor for creating a bombard is way bette rin the original, had a lot more energy). Also gold island continuity is a better story, i like that the map is the same in 4 and 6. Congrats on the not killing anyone. Conquerors battles could be fun and then atila. I know it was possible to not kill bleda in original (as in let the boar kill him) but haven't gotten that to work in de yet. Great campaign looking forward to the next ones love your pacifism series

You probably already know this but in La Noche Triste you can do it without even microing. You don't need to pic up extra eagles to jebait and can run straight to the wonder. That even makes it zero kills across the board, forcing pacifism amongst your enemies as well.
