How are Byzantines not hard nerfed yet? 1. They start with a cistern that increases gather rate. 2. Their farms are cheaper and provide 2 resources. (Cheaper and better, makes no sense) 3. Mangonel towers are OP. 4. They can basically counter all civs because of the variety from mercenary house. 5. They can make a huge army and still go castle age because of mercenary house. 6. They have increased unit production because of the cistern. And can also speed up research or boost defense with a single click. 7. Their villagers can attack too with the cistern ability. This civ is COMPLETELY ruining the ladder, if they don't get a nerf in season 8 I think many people will call a quit to this game.

Yup, I think now that at least they removed Empire Wars, it's worth spending more time just reflecting that Red Bull is not the owner of AoE4. Just because Red Bull is de-prioritizing AoE4 in Red Bull Wololo doesn't mean that there's not another potential sponsor who could help create a home for the next top-tier AoE4 tournament.

its a joke and a waste of time. i know the pro's still want the money, but aoe4 should get twice the prize pool as aoe2. i won't even bother watching this. the egc tournaments are better and more compelling. marinelord straight to the final? lol

Hot take on the big AoE2 prize pool. The top AoE2 players are older and some may be looking to retire. The big prize pool can draw new younger players so that game can continue to be as strong as it is. While the discrepancy in the prize pool isn't cool for everyone else, but that's my theory. I only include those where Liquipedia also has their age, so sadly no puppy.
