Hands down, the BEST cover of this song ever recorded!
@donalduck6212Ай бұрын
I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone else cover it, certainly because it's such an unusual and difficult song. It would be hard to pull off a half-decent cover of Coyote. This version is incredible all around, especially the singing.

Always LOVED this performance. For my money, no one has ever come as close to achieving Joni Mitchell’s vocal nuances as well as Aoife O’Donovan. And that’s no mean feat. Simply beautiful...but incredibly complex. The band accompanying her here...fire! 🔥🔥🔥Listen to that bass, those congas, and that acoustic rhythm...and those perfectly sprinkled accents of piano, violin, and mandolin. They are completely hitting a groove. Start to finish, this performance is an absolute gem. Savor it. Then repeat. Thank you, Aoife!!! ❤️😊☘️🌹

Almost certainly the finest cover of "Coyote" (a Notoriously difficult tune to perform) I've heard in over 40 years. Chris and the stable were Outstanding, never over the top, would, very much, like to have seen more extended instrumental breaks. Absolutely Love Aoife's voice, different intonations make it the same song with a very different feel yet almost exactly the same - quite rare. "Coyote" is a Signature tune and this performance (add extended instrumentals - this should be No less than 12 minutes long) sharply increases its presence as it grows over the decades. Thank you... have been wanting this for quite some time now.

I have to agree. I didn't think anyone would ever be able to cover this song and do it justice. Aoife aced it!

I heard this music more than 50 times. Both by Aoife O'Donavan as well as Joni Mitchell. Both beautiful in terms of singing, quite different in musical terms. Pat Matheney, and Jaco Pastorious are simply from another planet on Joni Mitchell performance. Aiofe singing is superb.

Aoife, Im a big fan of yours, being a folk musician you, and Sara and Sarah, have been a real inspiration. Your interpretation of this song is a is a shining example of your skill and talent. It seems so effortless. The way you settle so easily into the pocket with the band, with Im sure only minimal rehearsal. This is a VERY complicated song, with an unexpected weird model tuning and strange lyric rhythmic patterns, and you pull it off so effortlessly. You took a great song interpreted it, made it your own, and showed us all how its done. And always with that secret, inviting smile, like you know something we don't. Perhaps the answer is that you simply that you really REALLY enjoy performing music. I shall really miss Live From Here, in part because of gems like this. By the way, I would LOVE to hear the back story of how Sara Bareilles got you and Jarosz to accompany her on her Fire and St Honesty debut. That SNL set FLOORED me! Especially when I noticed you two.
