Damn! Mark is just unbelievable. The way he manipulates his phrases creating a story blows my mind every time I hear him. Genius!

The most "jazz" thing I've ever seen in my life is right after this performance... the musicians get up and look at each other... Holy shit! They know they just put on something special for their audience. Truly something special.

Plenty of fascinating Kunji on screen & fabulous sound, but I don't recognise pianist or drummer - to my shame. This is a magnificent trio with Avishai Cohen adding much to his fine compositions on bass. Thank you aokmcht for uploading, & the trio for withstanding the applause ! 0:00 1. One for Mark 4:48 2. Gesture 2 10:47 3. The ever evolving etude 4.

The drummer is Mark Guiliana, a frequent collaborator of him. He performed both at studio and live, you can see him with Cohen on the cover art of Gently Disturbed. He also performed with numerous musicians including Brad Mehldau (two collab albums), David Bowie (final studio album Blackstar), and recently St. Vincent.

@@GuyWhoLikesTheSnarkies1435 Which is probably why they started out with the song "One for Mark". They also have a song named "Samuel" which I believe was in reference to Sam Barsh, who played the piano/keyboard at the time the album Continuo was released back in the mid 2000's.

I've always thought this too. He did play in an army band for two years in his early 20s according to his website. Also, in Israel ~2 years of military service is mandatory for Jews, Druze and Circassians over the age of 18. Although, apparently a lot of people avoid serving without any consequences nowadays.
