Kind of a shame to see it go. I met my wife in a AOL chatroom in 2004 and spent tons of time talking to her in that chatroom and we met in person in 2007 and then we got married in 2010. We always joked that we should have got married in the lobby of the AOL office building since we met on AOL.

AOL stands for America OnLine and they were theee internet service provider of the early days. AOL not only ran an internet browser, online search engine and email account service, plus text messenger service, but also had a huge section of public chat rooms where people with all types of interests could come together and chat. AOL at some point was so popular and big that a large amount of people thought that AOL was actually the internet itself. Conversations often went like 'just go on the internet and ....' ....'oh you mean go on AOL?'

If only there was a place to find the answer to such a question... Maybe someday someone will invent some kind of technology that will allow people to search for and find answers to questions. 🤷

A total waste of resources. CC2 was a state-of-the-art office building with raised floors that could have been a data center. AOL designed it that way, but the new owners chose to demolish it for "reasons."
