Combine that with the limited uses and insane endlag when you miss (which has gotten me clean bodied a few times) and it's not that big of a threat.

I don't know why anyone puts Robin lower in tier lists. Some say that Robin is just carried by very dedicated players, but I think this is often a lie that gets spread to prevent the meta from changing in Smash. If you play a character that nobody understands, people will think it is just the player making it work when it really is skills that you gradually learn rather naturally. I don't see anything more than comfort with the character and good teching, and the character is devastating. Many people struggle with Robin online when they actually encounter them, but nobody talks about that often because it is a rare character to see. For example, Hungrybox couldn't even beat a Robin player he faced in Elite Smash in a recent stream, and he was playing absolutely crazy that day and getting at least a first to 3 set.

I agree with that notion. The thing is Robin is great in advantage states due to his raw kill power, but he has a lot of weaknesses one needs to cover in order to succeed. His mobility and lag on his Arcfire only serve to make him feel slower than what feels necessary. Robin is very reliant on reads (book puns ftw) and that requires a deal of skill. I main Robin myself and I'm no Jul (not even close), but Robin I'd say is a middle mid tier at very best. I believe Robin is more viable than most people think.

Peter Hoang arc fire has a lot of end lag, if a robin uses it in neutral then you just have to predict when they'll throw it out and jump over or run under. at the ledge the only options that beat arcfire at ledge is a well timed roll (rolling at the same time they throw out an arcfire) or a super well timed neutral getup. if you have a disjoint then you can hit the traveling arcfires out of the air

Save your jump like your life depends on it (because it does). If you press up b when you're out of Elwind (the "green bar") you'll do a little jump thing. Once Elwind runs out it will come back in about a second. You're just going to have to practice to be able to know exactly when it comes back

When the Elwind gauge is empty, it takes 6 sec to come back so save your jump and if you get thrown off, well often Robin main use the little boost from trying to up b with empty gauge, then jump, and air dodge if necessary (in that order)

I play both Robin and Ness. So... Arcfire comes out frame 17 with 63 total frames while PK fire comes out frame 18 with 55 total frames. However.... Arcfire applies shield pressure which when combined with the the electrical effects from a levin sword, can lead to some great kill confirms even while an opponent is shielding (an example would be arcfire to Levin sword down smash). In addition to this, if cast at the ledge it is one of the best ledge trap options in the game. It covers jump, neutral get-up and ledge attack. Ness' PK fire is technically safer if an opponent dodges it, due to it having less vulnerable frames, but dissipates on shield rather then applying pressure which ironically can make it less safe and it also can't be cast as effectively as a ledge trap option due to it only creating a fire pillar if it hits a vulnerable opponent. The ground doesn't count. Also while you're in the air it gets thrown diagonally towards the ground, which means you can't really throw it as far horizontally as an arcfire. Though you could use this mechanic to go off stage and ledge guard, so there is some utility.

Lucina is a character that thrives on fundamentals and creative play style. Lucina's play style demands you know the mechanics of the game inside and out, and choose optimal options to win. Lucina teaches you the game in a clean way and those skills transfer over to other characters. There's a reason Izaw recommends her for beginners. Mr.E doesn't have terrible fundamentals at all, what gave you that impression? Jul is one of my favorite players, and he and Mr.E play against each other at Xeno very often. They're quite even in terms of skill and win rate.
