It's good Ridge is diving into this, but it isn't compelling so far. I was comparing checked versions between this and a comparable TravelPro Platinum Elite Hardside and the Travelpro was cheaper at full price.

I really want this but don’t have 300 to spare. Interested in the 6 month review. Also I want that color too!!!

$300 is on par with a lot of the other well built hardshell carry-ons with similar features. Anything much cheaper is skimping on quality or features somewhere. That may be a trade-off a lot of people saying "$300 is too much" are willing to take...but the price point is in line with plenty of others

How well did it roll on a short carpet? The short clip in your video seems like it was not real smooth.

It was fairly smooth.

Have you ran into an issue with the handle rattling and dropping down when walking with the luggage on all 4 wheels by your side? Mine does that and I’m not sure if that’s is something common with Ridge luggage’s.

I haven't come across that issue.

I have one. Is a little heavier but really well built. I expect to keep using it for the next 20 years. So for me, it makes sense to pay 300+ up front. Having said that, is it absolutely necessary to spend that kind of money? No. You can get a perfectly good carry on for 150...It's just a matter of preference.

Why this one? Samsonites top line is cheaper, more durable, better built and lighter.

I just bought this and realized now that their dimensions are 22.5 x 14 x 9 and delta says their max is 22 x 14 x 9

Have you used it yet? Did they allow it to carry on?

Have you ran into any issues using it as a carry on being that a lot of airlines max out at 22” for a carry on and this measures in at 22.5”

@@foXnoMad cool, I want to order as a carry on. Just worried about being forced to check in because of size. Especially over half and inch lol
@foXnoMad2 ай бұрын
You should be good. Weight is probably more of an issue with carry-ons in general, again, mostly outside of the US. But if it's the typical clothes, shoes, etc. usually not a problem but if you'll be hauling gear (camera, tripods, etc.) just double check with the airline requirements. Not come across this issue but something to be aware of in general. Hope all of this additional info helps!

$300 is just too much for a carry on. Like you said they didn’t reinvent the wheel here. Nothing revolutionary. However if it is durable and holds up well in all conditions then it may be worth the price if it can last a while without anything breaking.

Does this meet the criteria/size restrictions for budget airlines? Specifically Spirit/Frontier? I know they have the bins you can drop your luggage into to make sure it fits.
@foXnoMad10 ай бұрын
Best to check the dimensions with the airline specific limits to be sure.
