Thanks for this review Chris! I have a fairly new cheap carry on, but was intrigued by latches vs zippers. I especially liked how you showed the sizing for Alaska airlines (and stated the same for United) because what's the sense in going with a carry-on if they make you check it because it's too big. I have the 24” in the same color. I checked it and found that their shell is very weak. It for sure is not crush proof. I have a puncture, chipping and bending on the polycarbonate shell all from the FIRST trip. I was very disappointed because this initially seemed very robust and strong. Yes it does look amazing, wonderful packing design and the wheels are phenomenal…I even got many compliments on it at the airports.

I just got this for a transatlantic flight on Turkish air, but at 10+ pounds, the weight limit on Turkish is about 17# per carry on. May end up checking it through.

Hi Great review. Quick question. I just did a search for Best Carry On Luggage via multiple review websites and Level 8 was NEVER on any of the lists. Are they not good enough quality to make the best carry on list? Samsonite seemed to be at the top of several, is Level 8 of equal quality? I do like how this Level8 Hegent Carry-On looks and love the zipperless latches too. Please reply. I'm about to go away on a business trip and I need a new carry on asap. THANK YOU

Hi Stone -- Level 8 is a new brand so I think most people just don't know if it all that well. I think the quality is just as good

AnyZip Carry On Luggage PC+ABS Aluminum Frame Zipperless Luggage Hard Shell Suitcase with TSA Lock Double Spinner Wheels for $150 Is Luggex or AnyZip comparable to Level 8... is it worth saving the $50 / $100? I was gonna buy the Level8 Hegent today but then saw the Luggex and AnyZip for cheaper. If it's a get what you pay for thing and the Level 8 is better I'll get the Level 8.

My Hegent 24 case has been on 2 round-trip travels via Delta and is already falling apart: 2 of 4 of the corner protector/reinforcements have fallen off, and the remainder of the case is degrading quickly. This is not durable luggage. Particularly after communicating briefly with Level8 customer service, I cannot understand how anyone would interpret the language of their Warranty to rate any other rating than the lowest possible by any measure. Please consider updating your review.

Does your code only work on certain items at Level8? Tried using it when buying the Hegent and it says it’s not valid for the item.
