In Canada the symbol is XBAL from I Shares, VBAL from Vanguard and ZBAL from Bank of Montreal. Pretty much the same returns from each, but they are called balanced etf. If you want the growth, 80/20 mix of each it is XGRO, VGRO and ZGRO

My inherited IRA had a high management fee for a so-called "active management". Aside from the high management fee, it has tons of ETFs inside. I sold all my positions and am about to just get either AOA or AOR which makes it much easier to sell shares over the next 10 years. This way I don't have to worry about rebalancing and the expense ratio is a lot lower than what a CFP would charge to accomplish the same thing.

I own AOA which is the 80-20 allocation ETF of that same series, very happy with it, performs very well. It includes the same component funds as AOR but with a higher allocation to stocks.

I'd rather look at the avavtis moderate allocation etf for a single fund solution. But realistically i like to keep stocks and bonds separate. What, in your opinion, would be the best bond paring to avge?

For regular taxable accounts, how about a 2 ETF portfolio of 60% (DFAW or AVGE) and 40% (GOVT or VGIT)?

Sounds pretty good to me.

New to investing, looking at dropping 50K into AOR ETF, curious if any have change of opinion today vs 2 months ago when this uploaded? Seems like a good way to get started.

I invest for the long term, so nothing would really change my opinion in a few months. No change.

What are your thoughts on people saying that 60/40 is dead?

It's a stupid thing pundits have said every year for the past half century or so. Makes for a good clickbait headline.

I wish Charles Schwab would create a similar product. They have all the necessary ETFs to do so.

Why bother with such miniscule allocations to small and midcap stocks( emerging market is higher which is crazy) and then 9% to intl bonds. Just take some percentage out of domestic bonds, where it is already high. I am not a fan at all and I seem justified by the mediocre track record. One could coble together many index funds that would be cheaper and have better long term records. There is no science that supports constant rebalancing. Bogle even said not to worry about it.
@OptimizedPortfolio9 ай бұрын
As I noted, the fund is just roughly using whatever the global market cap happens to be, no matter how "miniscule." "High" is subjective. We can only know the optimal portfolio in hindsight; outcome bias is a terrible basis for portfolio construction. 60/40 not being right for you doesn't mean it's not right for someone else. No science to support rebalancing? The simple reason is to maintain one's asset allocation (risk/return profile): kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3vbmHxshZWVm7c

As usual, depends on one's goal(s), time horizon, and need, capacity, and tolerance for risk. As @tungooska pointed out, they also have a more aggressive version which is AOA.
