I feel like you’re sleeping on Illithia, the +2 bravery buff is actually good because it negates the effect of spending an AQ, especially if you don’t have a cathallar within range, and unity of purpose is really strong, especially if you the Auralan legion, which gives you strike in unison for free if units are within 3” of each other, that also frees you up to use another better command ability for free, and a one time 50% chance to bring your general to life with full wounds is very good, especially in the case of teclis who is so expensive points wise

I don't think they are totally worthless, just the weakest of the 4. Sadly, Teclis cannot benefit from the 50% chance to come back to life, as he is a named character and can take neither command traits nor artefacts.

I know this is quite late, and you've probably been made aware or figured out yourself, but the command ability for illiatha is different to volley fire/all out attack in that it doesn't have a range requirement to a hero, so theres far more flexibility in distributing it across your battle lines.

That is true, and a cool perk, but hardly going to raise that nation up much based on that. None of the great nations are bad, and I would certainly take that great nation before taking none, but it still falls near the bottom of the list. If this were an army more like Seraphon where command points were easier to come by, that would be a much better ability.

Damage Prevention Role. This is any after-save, such as Disgustingly Reslient. Usually it is expressed as "after a wound or mortal wound has been allocated to this model, roll a die. On an unmodified die roll of 6+ that wound or mortal wound is negated."

On my side Illiatha, as i prefer the related background story and color scheme. I hope for new elementary to come to buff the nation ;-)

I wouldn't mind Illiatha if their command ability weren't totally pointless. Who knows, maybe Volley Fire and All Out Attack will go away in 3rd edition, which could then make there command ability considerably more powerful, but for now, it is sub-par.
