AOSOM BIKE TRAILER TWO YEAR REVIEW

Great honest long term review of a fairly decent budget price trailer. Aosom products are sold in Europe as Homcom for anyone who is interested. I bought a German brand Trixie large sized dog trailer from Amazon last year for €131 from Amazon for hauling cargo. Particularly for doing a weekly supermarket shopping trip because it's fully secure and enclosed like the boot/trunk of a car and nothing will fall out. But I've carried all sorts of bulky and heavy cargo up to more than 70kg/160lbs behind an ordinary hybrid pedal power only bike. My average load would be 40-50kg and I've put up about 700km with it in just over a year and so far, so good. It was a great purchase. I was thinking of a Homcom with a liner which could be removed as a second trailer for carrying big items that won't fit into the dog trailer. Especially a lawnmower. I think your trailer is a great little trailer and probably very comparable to other similar but slightly bigger Aosom trailers but I think I will go with another similar German(?) brand called Duramaxx. But I am very impressed with the good use you have had and will continue to have from this trailer and well done for a great video 👍 You don't have to spend €6/700 on a premium brand to get something decent. Although if I was doing a world tour, I certainly would spend the bigger bucks for the better build quality. Read the reviews from different sites and make your decision.

Yes it's not a touring trailer(have seen them on bike camping) but makes a good utility trailer. Have used it many ways from flatbed to a solar trailer now

I’m planning on getting me one this month for groceries and laundry towing. I don’t have a car and so I’m using my bike full time and after panniers not being enough I decided to purchase this trailer

I've been fulltime on the bike since 2018 the trailer has been a big part of being able to do this. They have increased in price so much anouther trailer I looked at was the Schwinn day tripper. I went with this one because the side and end rails are removable so you can configure it as needed even use as a flatbed .

Well I only haul 50 lbs at the most I weigh 215. I use it around town supermarket, laundry. Walmart. Never anl long haul over 100 lbs. 65 taking a scooter back to UPS

Price on this has doubled now. Does it knock the bike over when loading, connected to the back axle? They had the seat mounted one down to $148, it would seem to allow the bike to turn much sharper, the T handle nice to push it around, a front stiff leg. Just wondering if trailer got hung up, say running up a curb, trailer could really put a side pull on bike, attach point so high up under seat.

No things are more stable in the trailer doesn't affect the bike at all when parked but yeah to much in the front rack can😄. I know it's crazy I paid 89$ with no liner.

I've only had the axel mount so really no experience with the high mount

Mine does fine now that I put a solid piece of 3/8” allthread all the way across the whole trailer to stabilize the wheels that were waving at one another.

I want to put a 22 imch push mower on one but this is too small. I think you said 20 inches wide.

How’s the trailer hold up at speeds like 23mph

I just use it around town probably 15mph at the most. I think single wheel trailers are better at higher speeds. But on decent roads here I have looked back to see if it was still there. It's all metal but I've done somethings to make it more quiet and it was 89$ when I bought it😄

Is this easily collapsible of you wanted to haul it in the trunk?

The wheels and axles are quick release but the side rails are bolted to the base and don't fold down so 4 bolts and nuts must be removed and four screws holding the end rails. So yes it does come apart for storage or transporting but takes 5-10 minutes a Phillips screw driver and two wrenches

So when I went out this morning I checked. You need a 5mm Allen wrench and a 10 mm wrench. All the screws have 5mm heads on them the four nuts on the bottom have 10mm flats
