I usually disagree with these demands to watch OVAs because I feel they don't push the story along, just character development. I watched the entire show without any OVAs (pure accident, didn't know about them) and I don't feel like I missed anything. BUT because of their release schedule (part of my annoyance is you wait a week for new reactions and then...bleh an OVA) I'd kinda agree.. sure add the OVAs to the schedule

Thanks @hypershadow87 for trying to spoil them by explaining what "suicidal bastard" means and highlighting the importance of that scene in their 1x17 reaction video. Glad they were already on 1x24 when this comment was posted. Here's their comment: "Suicidal Bastard" = a nickname that some of their group uses to refer to Eren Armin yelled that out loud at that very specific moment for a very specific reason even if it wasn't completely obvious to the viewer. Even Jean wasn't sure and was confused as to why Armin was yelling that out loud. It'll make more sense halfway through season 2 once you're there (if you haven't already gotten that far). As you can see at 6:03, we have Armin to help explain things for us. Just let them watch the show without spoiling them. The only point of that comment is to spoil the reactors. If they didn't understand what was going on in that scene, that's perfectly fine and that's their genuine and authentic reactions to the show. Perhaps they might think about this scene a bit more later and eventually figure it out themselves but if not, that's cool. The key is them figuring things out THEMSELVES. They will eventually understand when the show tells them and explain things. Just let the show do its thing. There's almost always no reason to write comments like these that spoil and explain every single thing the reactors don't understand. Everyone is different and some people are able to catch and understand things right away and others may not. It is SO lame when the commenters always try to handhold and spoonfeed info to the reactors. Unless the reactors are misunderstanding something extremely important that the show expects the viewer to understand at a specific point in the show, then it is completely unnecessary to write spoiler comments like these. For example, the relationship between Mikasa and Eren is ambiguous in the show in 1x1-5. Lots of reactors don't know whether they are siblings or not but there will always be comments that spoil them by saying that they are not siblings or pointing out hints the show gives and explaining them such as how Mikasa referred to Eren's Dad as "Uncle" and Eren's Mom as "your mother" when talking to Eren. In 1x6, we see Mikasa with her parents in the cabin and then see their parents get killed. Then Mikasa joins and lives with Eren's family. This is basically the final reveal and the show expecting the viewers to understand that Mikasa and Eren are not siblings. If the reactors still think they are siblings even after this reveal, then I guess it's okay to correct the parent's misunderstanding. In that scene in 1x17, the hint is Armin saying his line with "suicidal bastard" and the female titan stopping. If the reactors paid attention and are able to remember this line that was said in previous episodes, they will be rewarded and be able to make the connection that "suicidal bastard" refers to Eren and that only the 104th trainees would know, as Armin explains. Again, the parents' natural reaction is that they were not able to understand "suicidal bastard" and that's okay. They are still able to catch and understand other things, just not this one. Just let the reactors catch and figure out things themselves through watching the show. This is why watching AOT reactions is so fun. We get to see the reactors' reactions to the show, see their raw thinking in action, and how they are able to piece things together and form predictions and theories naturally. They may have crazy theories and predictions and very unusual thoughts about the show, and that's great and so fun to listen to. As they continue watching the show, their theories, predictions, and thoughts will naturally change and point toward the "correct" conclusions. The reactors don't need help (most of the time), just let the show guide them and answer their questions and explain things and everything else. That's why they are watching the show. What is the point when everything is handed to them on a silver platter by the commenters. How is that fun for both the reactors and viewers? I just can't understand why people feel the need to constantly spoil the reactors.

Someone recommended having them watch the Levi OVAs after season 1, I would like to add to that recommendation the Ilse's Notebook OVA, I think it's fairly important for the story and builds a lot of mystery, it's a very good episode. The other OVAs while enjoyable and add a bit of depth to some characters (and some things from the OVAs get mentioned later in the canon, like for example Eren telling Jean to be nicer to his mom) they're not super important so I understand if you skip them, although I certainly wouldn't mind watching their reactions to those either haha.
