They do not complain when you spend an hour photographing them :)

thanks for this lesson, you made me understand that there is no need for expensive equipment to take beautiful photos, unlike many of your colleagues I appreciate your humility in explaining your way of working with photography
@aows2 жыл бұрын
There is no need at all, unless you need something very specific. If you want to take photos of wildlife and get those close-up shots, for example, then you'll need a big telephoto lens. But for general photography, any camera can give you amazing results nowadays.

Great video. The fact you shoot landscapes wide open is very interesting. I like it.
@aows2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I like how much more creative you can be with them by doing that. It doesn't work for every shot, not even close, but some of them are just totally different when using a shallower depth of field. You can create something that wasn't so obvious at first.

Hard to imagine your fabulous videos require so much thought about that particular gear! Thank you so much for all the investing you do on creating such beautiful content.

Love your work. I use a Sony a6000 old technology and have a Tamron 18-300 which lives on my camera. The versatility of this kit meets my needs. And at 24mp, I don’t see any reason to change kit. I really agree with your early comments on this video.

Regarding your broken rear LCD, you could temporarily work around that problem either with a hotshoe mounted field monitor or using your smartphone as a monitor.
@aows2 жыл бұрын
Those are two options, for sure. The problem with the monitor is that they require yet an extra battery making them annoying just for photography; and the smartphone doesn't really work that well with the a7rii, very laggy and it takes forever. That's why I'm using my other camera for now, when the situations requires it. I hope I can fix that cable soon :) Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi Adrian, I think in my fuji I can select all time up to 20''. I have to check my current Sony
@aows2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome, much better than the 30 seconds. What are the options, though? Can you choose, for example, 11 minutes and 30 seconds?
@Havetin2 жыл бұрын
@@aows You can not choos randomly as I remember, but there are 2' steps. I can check it again.
@Havetin2 жыл бұрын
@@aows Unfortunately not :) Only 1', 1,30, 2, 3, 4 , 5 10, 20 I think it is connected with settings of light measure

Olemartin Evensen is in Kroatia now, so you can't visit him if you pass by Abelvær. Except for Helgelandskysten Coast, he loves the Mediterranean Coast, and especially Lisbon and Kroatia. The image he posted today from Kroatia, was just spectacular:-)

As an admirer of your work that was interesting. I used to have a Canon ef 135mm f2 when I shot professionally which was an absolutely beautiful lens especially when shot wide open but strangely did not use it that much even though the quality of the images were so so nice. I found it a good focal length but I was shooting classic rally cars in many different countries trying to include a sense of place so longer than that cropped out too much background. I still have a Canon ef 200mm f2.8L with my now Sony A7r3 that makes great images when it achieves focus lol. Most landscape photographers seem to shoot 16-35mm most of the time with everything in focus and from a personal perspective find your wide open, mostly square and not super wide images so much more interesting and rewarding to view. Great video work too. Gear is important but not nearly as important as we sometimes kid ourselves.

Nice zoo you have here Adrian! Indeed, gear doesn't make it all, but having good and trustable instruments is important. The choice is already tough for an amateur (moreover on budget), I can't imagine for a pro. Sometimes it's easy to feel like we need more or should upgrade our gear. But I think I still haven't used yet all the potential of my APS-C combined to few lenses and filters ;) By the way, it was nice seeing the light changing in the background in the fjord Cheers!

I 100% agree with your comment on needing a remote shutter release for long exposures. I will never understand why we can’t choose whatever length we want IN CAMERA. To still require people to bring a separate device with them everywhere is ridiculous.
@aows2 жыл бұрын
It totally is. It looks like other camera brands let you do longer exposure times, but I just don't understand why you wouldn't be able to select whatever time you want.
@matthiassteck40092 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video. I appreciate a lot that you don't focus on gear. To my opinion you more or less make the same images with the A7xx you made with the Bronica. And I'm shure your images wouldn't be much different with Canon or Nikon or Fuji gear. And they wouldn't be much different if you'd use my Minolta SLRs and Rokkor Lenses on b/w 35mm-Film. It's your look and that is beyond gear. This is so cool. Thanks for your great work.

Ps! Norge or Noreg stems from Karmøy and Avaldsnes, where our first king Harald Hårfagre had his main royal court. Everybody going northward had to pass by here and to pay taxes, so the way to the north, or Noreg, started here.
